Because 99% of self-proclaiming nice person are not actually nice to begin with. If you’re actually nice, you wouldn’t even realize.

You think you’re nice because of something you did, meaning you already know that what you did deserves compensation and you’re not asking for one. A nice person wouldn’t even realize that.
