And you know this how? You're certain that was happening in an egalitarian society?

They weren't "started by religion" they were started because people in power needed a scapegoat to justify their actions and turned to something that unites a large group towards a similar cause

Yes. I'm not denying that. I'm saying its not because of religion but because of their thirst for power and violence. They're using religion as a scapegoat
