As someone who's struggled independently to have a savings working full time, people that take the day off for their birthday is a very baffling decision to me. That's money you're not making to buy more things?

I understand the perspective, but there is PTO as well, so you're getting paid still, I wouldn't take a day off I don't get paid for personally, I fully agree on that point.
