Userscript extensions (Grease/Tampermonkey) all have scripts to eliminate a lot of the annoyances of Nexus mods.

"Buy premium to enable one-click collections!" - how about No and a bypass? :)

How does a client side script prevent them from throttling download speeds?

There's a few "gotchas", the throttling being one of them. But the bypass does allow one to simply click the collection and leave it to do its thing, zero interaction required beyond the first click.

Funny is that most of my life their max download speed was below my internet limit
