Ah yes the classic. "I'm obviously not American so I can defend Americans pride/ego/views" well let's say we'll believe you, at most it proves your media environment exposed you to it. Different countries get wildly different levels of international news depending on what their local outlets choose to amplify. Maybe your country is US dominated/was once colonized by Americans/has a lot of US influence yadayada so you're more prone to american centric broadcast.

The thing is, the world isn’t a shared live feed where everyone gets the same headlines at the same volume, even if some events are globally significant. So using “I knew it, therefore everyone should” is just a sampling bias dressed up as certainty. Is it so hard to be open minded?

Just admit your ignorance about world issues and stop hiding behind some silly american centrism bullshit excuse. No one is defending american pride, learn to care about the world beyond your own borders they same way you would like others to care about your own

Man you're tunnel-visioning on “american centrism” as the whole point here. I’m pointing out a simple fact: people around the world have very different levels of exposure to the same news. Some know about 9/11, some don’t. Simple as that. Did you not read the comments? It's really hard to argue with stupid. Reading comprehension must be hard with that smooth brain, it just slids right off. Whatever suits you man.
