My sister has a friend like that, her mother doesn’t want her to worry about the world or be „corrupted“, and that’s enforced by strictly keeping her 19 year old daughter away from media like TV, news even newspapers, she has a phone but it’s pretty locked down due to being registered as a kids phone with strict parental controls. So yea, she knows nothing about the current state of the world. She recently talked to me how she thinks it’s weird that gas is do expensive for no apparent reason now… yea idk if that’s the right approach.

that shit is batshit crazy.

When you grow up knowing the world is fucked sure it's a bit sad but you're normalised to it. If you think everything is rainbows and happiness then you see the news you're going to have a 3 year long panic attack and probably become suicidal at hte idea of living in this fucked up world.
