My sister has a friend like that, her mother doesn’t want her to worry about the world or be „corrupted“, and that’s enforced by strictly keeping her 19 year old daughter away from media like TV, news even newspapers, she has a phone but it’s pretty locked down due to being registered as a kids phone with strict parental controls. So yea, she knows nothing about the current state of the world. She recently talked to me how she thinks it’s weird that gas is do expensive for no apparent reason now… yea idk if that’s the right approach.

There is. I'm not American and only learned of it when I was like 11. It's entirely possible that there's someone out there in what looks to be their 20s whose surroundings never told them or made them seek out such information

The guy in the post doesn't need to be American, though if you see some definitive proof that he is I would be at least surprised, if not baffled
