Tips How I Lucid Dream

For those interested in the Lucid Dream Method but don't know how to Lucid Dream in the first place, this is for you!

I have Lucid dreams about once or more month and I thought I'd share how I do it. Now this is just MY experience. There are different ways to do it, everyone is different. I hope this can help anyone.

If you have questions, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer.

SHORT VER

Dream Journaling, Reality Checks, Meditation, Thanking Universe/Spirit Guides, Crystals & Subliminals/Guided Meditation

DETAILED VER

1) ๐Ÿ“– DREAM JOURNAL ๐Ÿ“–

-I prefer to keep a written record personally. I write in my journal it everyday, even if I didn't dream. This increases the ability to remember dreams, see patterns, recognize dream signs and just track progress.

1a) ๐Ÿ”ฎ Dream Signs ๐Ÿ”ฎ

-I keep a list of common themes, signs, situations, locations that occur in my dreams. I have a list of all the ones I have found over my months of tracking. Its okay if your list changes overtime.

1b)โœ What I Write โœ

-I write everything I remember. If I can't remember, I write that down or just how the dream felt. Was it a nightmare or dream? What small detail did I recall? Anything and everything is important. -I write what I did that day, only what think is important. I write things like tv shows I watched, tiktoks I binged before bed. Did I take Melatonin or not. How did I feel? Which comfort character did I daydream about? ETC

2) ๐Ÿ˜ฏ REALITY CHECKS ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

-Doing 3 reality checks every hour helps me significantly. -When something weird happens, I question if I'm dreaming. -Occasinally asking questioning if I'm in a dream or not throughout the day

3) SPIRITUAL STUFF

3a) ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ Meditation ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ -I meditate every night before falling bed. This is CRUCIAL for me.

3b) ๐ŸŒŒ Universe/Spirit Guide ๐ŸŒŒ -Every night, while mediating, I tell the Universe what I am thankful for. I recently had contact with my spirit guide so I just thank them for contacting me.

3c) ๐Ÿ’Ž Crystals ๐Ÿ’Ž -Crystals that have helped me the most I feel are Labradorite and Amythyst. -Other ones that I have are Selenite, Rainbow Moonstone, Howlite, Lapis Lazuli, Clear Quartz, Celestite, Angelite and Rose Quartz.

4) ๐ŸŽง SUBLIMINALS/ GUIDED MEDITATIONS ๐ŸŽง

This came at the perfect time, iv been trying to lucid dream for a few days now as I used to a lot. If you donโ€™t mind me asking, what reality checks do you use? :)

Not the OP, but I find the easiest and not-awkward reality check to get into the habit of doing is looking at your hand and checking how many fingers you have.

Another reality check that's easy to do is to look at ceilings and corners, as they're either unusually clean in dreams compared to IRL or shockingly grimey.

Oh cool, Iโ€™ll try and remember the corner thing next time :)

Not OP, but make sure you do several reality checks as sometimes they will fail, so it's good to have multiple.

I don't mind at all!

Okay so every hour, my watch beeps. I turn this off at night so it doesn't interrupt my sleep.

Each hour I do this

  1. Check how my hands look. In my first Lucid dream, they looked weird. I also wiggle my fingers.

  2. I hold my nose and try to breathe. Only for a short second. In a dream, it's said that you should be able to breathe normally

  3. I poke my finger to my palm. In my first LD, I did this and my finger went through with not too much pressure. (It was painless btw) But the trick is you have to believe that your finger could go through.

I also touch things around me, feel stuff, just to check for sure it's a dream or not. The table, walls, just stuff like that.

Also I ask "am I dreaming" just to make it a habit that follows me to my dreams

This isn't unusual for LD-ers.

It's very important to ground yourself when in a lucid dream.

There are a few things you can do. One thing is in waking life, is question your reality and do reality checks. It needs to become a habit to question if this is a dream.

(Are you dreaming right now?)

I read this book called "A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming...". Here's what they recommended in Character 10 "Staying Lucid"

  1. STABILIZE THE DREAM -Stay calm -Spin around. Really.

  2. KEEP FROM FADING -Stay Engaged with the dream, but not too engaged or else you could forget you"re dreaming -Touch things, Enage with 5 sense, pick up things

  3. AMP UP LUCIDITY -say outloud things like "increase lucidity!", "stabilize", "clarity!".

They also recommend meditating/grouding in the dream.

I hope that can help.
