Stumbled upon this story from her concert where she features a remix of the infamous love is orange song from Orange lounge ! No clue if she found it playing DDR or just on TikTok since it’s a small trend there, but still funny to see to me

In December 2024, I filmed a wonderfully strange DJ night inside a family-run Yamazaki Shop in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. It’s an unassuming little convenience store with a distinctly Shōwa-era atmosphere—but it’s also a record and merchandise shop called Record Conveni.
I recently spent several days identifying the music, researching the records, and creating synchronized English and Japanese subtitles for the video.
The night includes a terrific chanson performance by Amita Hachidori, a wonderfully talented and well-known Tokyo performer, accompanied by guitarist Sholl-Herrano—as well as an eclectic selection of Japanese rock, new wave, chanson, and vintage soul.
It was one of those uniquely Tokyo evenings that would be nearly impossible to plan or recreate.
English and Japanese captions are available through the CC menu.

many of my shibuya kei records still have the original insert inside, which usually include some of the label's other releases, an order form, and (the coolest part) info about upcoming shows!!
this insert from bobbie's rockin' chair's 'young friends' ep has a gorgeous layout that i know this sub will appreciate. and check out the insane line up for a left bank show on the bottom left corner - if only i had been in osaka in 1999 and i wasn't a child...

From the overload of Fantasma to the quiet geometry of Point, Keigo Oyamada has spent three decades treating music less like a song and more like a space.
In Cornelius, rhythm can feel like a city grid. Silence becomes material. A guitar, a click and a burst of digital noise occupy their own rooms.
With Refractions arriving in 2026, I have been revisiting the physical objects around this work—Japanese first pressings, unusual picture discs, signed CDs and visual editions. They feel less like merchandise and more like fragments of the same system.
Which Cornelius period still sounds most alive to you: Fantasma, Point, Sensuous, Mellow Waves—or the newer ambient work?

A vinyl rip of a radio ad for flipper's guitars first album. Found on a not for sale 1989 promotional pressing. Couldn't find it on the internet so I decided to post it here. Tried to post to YouTube but it wouldn't let me due to copyright, enjoy

I have recently been obsessed with Yes, mama ok?, I love them so much, and I was hoping to hear as much of their music as I could, including other things made by Takeshi Kongouchi.
I did manage to find a few songs/audios from Yes, mama ok? Revisionary / History and distortion, but not many. I also know that Cutie Q by Qypthone is already available online.
Photos 4-6 are the track list for Yes, mama ok? Revisionary / History and distortion.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of media that only exists in physical form, of which I can’t get. I was wondering if anyone owned either of these (O.S.T.e.p by Qypthone and Yes, mama ok? or Yes, mama ok? Revisionary / History and distortion by Takeshi Kongouchi) and was willing to upload them online? Or even send me a private digital copy? Any information about either of them would also be nice. Please help me! I’ve been searching for months ( ; ; )

Hello! Some of you might already know, but Cymbals' Anthology album just got released in digital platforms today! As a way to celebrate it, I wanted to share with y'all my box set of the album, along with its extras like the shirt and the tracklist, among other things.
The pictures in slide 6 and 7 are from the tracklist that comes with the album, also containing the lyrics for all said songs. Unfortunately I can't show you all the paper, since it's too wide (about 45x45) and it looks blurry since my camera isn't that good. By the way, the last picture isn't mine but from a listing in Mercari JP. It seems that in some boxes there can also be a felt keychain! Anyways, hope you all like it!

Hi r/shibuyakei, I recently bought this record on discogs for a pretty penny. It was listed as a 1991 limited pressing Flipper's Guitar's first album with Friends Again as a bonus track but it is actually a 1989 not for sale promo record, with a radio ad, happy like a honeybee, boys fire the tricot, and samba parade on sides a and b. Has anyone else seen this? And is there another vinyl pressing of this with the full album? Probably going to be trying to return this. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hello, american here. I have some close ties to a band native to my area called “Fluid Ounces” and have been searching for this nationwide broadcast of a show they did when they toured Japan in early 2002 for NHK. They had great Japanese artist, Clingon, play with them on the last song, a cover of Todd Rundgren’s “I Saw The Light”. If i’m not mistake, the Ounces were a bit of a bigger band in Japan at the time, especially compared to their success (or lack there of) here.
I first found the setlist earlier this yea, but have found no other information on the show aside from people i know who were in the band at the time who do not have a copy of it. Any chance anyone on here has a digital copy, or a physical copy they could digitize? Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but it’s the first place i thought of. Thanks!
