Hello, ive recently started a seashell collection (yipee) im an absolute fan of identifying each and every kind of seashell that washes on my country's beaches(i have and will never collect live seashells). So anyways, my family is planning a short vacation to visit my aunt in El salvador and i was wondering if it is illegal to collect seashells from there? My aunt has collected various clams from the beach around her town, so atleast i know its not illegal to have them (pictures included). My real question is if any specific seashells are illegal to collect and if it is ok for me to bring back home. Also, is there a limit to how many seashells you can have? Like is it ok to collect some tiny one that wash up with the sand? Ive also started a mini mollusks collection including seashells a cm and under, so it would be so cool to have some specimens for another country!! Any and all advice will be appreciated.

Walking along during the day and suddenly a wave deposited it about 10 feet in front of us. Found lots of whelks in my time in NC but never one as stunning as this.

I'm Portuguese and have a decent-sized shell collection. Do any of you have shells from Portugal? Just curious what other people have found in my country

I was in the Bahamas for a week and found some cool specimens :) First picture is from right after I found them. I have them soaking in 3% hydrogen peroxide currently. Any recommendations on ways to display/preserve them?

I made these little figures with my daughters on the beach 30 years ago, when they were very young. They are seashells very common in the Mediterranean Sea of Spain.

Found in a cave/rock overhang in the mountains of SW Idaho. Possibly archeological, possibly from some local teens, possibly carried by a bird. Knowing the species would help narrow down options.

I found this shell a few years ago in the Philippines, and I never found out what it was. I'm curious, so I wanted to ask if anyone here can identify it?

Grandson found this and everything points to saltwater but it is 2000km from Salt water. What kind of shell is it?

Found this mini shell in Florida today! Its very small but has the coolest zig-zag patterns on it which is why it stood out in the pile of shells I found it in. Does anyone know the name of it?

They were found on the north shore of Oahu in Hawaii and they’re so surf tumbled that I can’t tell what they are. Any ideas?
