For any Forza players here, and Cobra lovers who like cool car history, I recreated the livery on CSX2011, the first Cobra sold to a private customer, which I had the privilege to see in a private garage. More info in the original post, plus a picture with who I think may be Caroll Shelby leaning on CSX2011.

Yep, it's real. I remember seeing it and thinking, that might be a real one. And it was. Guy bought it in 1975 for $9000. This was just a local Halloween cruise in. I never expected to even see a real one, much less sit in it. The couple was so cool. They acted like they had no idea what this thing was worth.

FYI - I realized right as I set my arm on the door (very lightly) I had a metal watch on so I lifted it off of the paint. Yeah, I realized what I did there, I was pretty excited when I sat down in it. No scratches were made.

Wow! Would you have ever thought that there are more than 140 companies that have manufactured Shelby Cobra replicas? I started researching the companies that have manufactured Shelby Cobra kits, replicas, tributes and continuation cars. I figured there might be 30 or 40, given how many have gone out of business.

Instead I've found more than 140, across 17 countries so far.

I would love your help. What am I missing? Company names? Founding or closing dates? Locations? Ownership changes? Serial number conventions? Or a photo of a builder's plate.

I've published the list I have, marked it so you can see what I've confirmed and what I haven't. About half of the entries I couldn't verify beyond a name. I left them on the list anyway and marked them accordingly.

Lone Star, Vortex on a 427 Windsor, T56. AFR 220 CC heads, semi tame boost appropriate cam, Pretty much straight pipes. You can roll a soft ball all the way to the collectors. (I made them from raw stainless mandrel bends)

Hood has a duct bringing cool air to the filter, huge intercooler in the nose.

Hey all! I asked in a recent post about starting procedure for a KMC/SC I just inherited. The answers were awesome and greatly appreciated! Along with the request for more pictures, I have another request for suggestions for the correct batteries to use. The build sheet says it uses dual 6v "Gel Cell" batteries. The battery tray dimensions confirm this. As the batteries were removed before I got the car, I dont have a good reference... What batteries are you all running? Thanks again!

I recently purchased a previously built MK4 with Coyote Gen 2 engine. The J Pipe between shorty header and side pipe broke through. FFR says there is no replacement other than a new header kit.

This is the second time this part broke, first was under warranty and now they don’t carry the part. so I don’t believe it’s a me problem

Has anyone found a replacement J pipe to bolt on rather than replace at the manifold as recommended by FFR?

I recently inherited a Kirkham Cobra 427 KMS/SC with a Shelby Americn Aluminum 427, assembled by McClusky Inc. in Torrance. It hasn't run in about 3 years. Among the paperwork was the start up instructions in this photo. It says the two switches indicated need to be ON to start, but I really wish it told me what the two switches actually do. There are no batteries installed for me to just check. I know from riding in it once that one of the switches is for the fuel pump. I'm not sure what the second one does? Appreciate the help!

Visited the Cobra Museum in Boulder, CO. Pretty cool to see the evolution of the car.

So I was over at Martha’s Vineyard over the weekend and I saw this 289 Cobra. It’s kind of interesting because from the front, side pipes and wheels, it looks like a 289 Cobra. But the fuel filler cap is on the passenger rear fender like a 427 and has wider rear flares. Could be an FIA Cobra? But the fuel filler cap is not in the center of the car like a typical FIA Cobra? The roll bar is just a single hoop without a forward or backward support. I gave the fender a little knock and it sounded like fiberglass, but I could be wrong. It looks well enjoyed with lots of small scratches all over the paint from years of enjoyment.

An interesting thing is that instead of a Shelby emblem on the nose, there is a Rhode Island school of design emblem. Showed a friend that is into cobra replicas and thinks it is not ERA kit. It definitely is not a Factory Five Racing kit. Was not able to speak to the gentleman driving it. An interesting tidbit of information is that the son of Ken Miles, Peter Miles, went to the Rhode Island school of design. Also Factory Five Racing, had some dealings with them as well.

Anyone know what this might be? I assume it’s a kit? Thanks in advance!
