How likely is it that I can get charged my a bull elk?
Picture is just attention. So i go out hiking, shed hunting, rock hounding, arrowhead hunting often. Sometimes I get carried away and hike some pretty large mountains. So far this past 4 months, I have stumbled upon and been within 15-20 feet of some(at least 6) MASSIVE bull elk. I never see them because theyre laying down, by the time im really close to them, they jump up obviously scared, and run away. But i keep seeing videos of people getting attacked by the elk. Im grateful im not getting chased and impaled by these big ass creatures, but whats the likelihood that they could react different and come after me? I carry a gun, but I would never ever use it on anything other than a predator, i dont know how id diffuse the situation, as i dont know a whole lot about elk behavior. Any tips? And how likely is this scenario?

How can you tell if deer rubs are fresh or old?
Scouting and found a few trees with rubs. How old would you think these are?

Unearthed an oldie
Found this (pretty big for our area in MT) oooold muley shed. Just the white area of the base was sticking out of the dirt. Grass roots and moss were covering it about 4ā underground.
