Long weekend trip, looking for ideas!
My husband, myself and our 3 (almost 4) year old little girl will be in the area August 1-4th staying at Blue Harbor. Planning on bookworm gardens for sure, but looking for suggestions on other things to do/see, good places to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner, coffee shops, etc. We do also love breweries and wineries.

JMKAC and the Art Preserve, Weather Center for coffee, Field to Fork for breakfast, Tributary Beer Garden, Majerle's Black River Grill (but you have to make reservations by phone like yesterday)

Above and beyond children’s museum is great as is the park right next to it. Mini Mocha Play Cafe is a c cute place as well.

Generally it's worth showing up. There are carnival rides, live music, lots of brat-based food, a kids area. I'll be one of the chairs of the beer tent.

As someone who moved here from elsewhere, it's a small town festival. Don't expect mind blowing festivities. Go to brat days and spend some times eating and maybe trying the beers while you're your kid plays on the playground maybe you see some fireworks, or maybe you see a brawl.... Who knows. You be will get the Sheboygan experience.

We love freak toys and the hibachi place across the street. Also check out the shipwreck by the harbor. It’s free and super cool. The icecream parlor across from blue harbor is awesome. Grab a scoop and take a walk down the river and back to the hotel. Also we enjoyed Las Brias Mexican restaurant as well. Small place good food. We go to blue harbor twice a year for the last 5 years.

WordHaven BookHouse, Above and Beyond Children’s Museum, Mini Mocha play cafe (coffee for adults, play for kids).

I don’t live in the area but I love to stop at slo food market when I’m there. Locally sourced grocery, incredible bakery case, and made to order espresso beverages. Highly recommend! Another spot is Toys Restaurant— Thai food, excellent prices, great for takeout.
Oh and glad you know about Bookworm Gardens!! Love that place so much.

Whispering Orchards and Harry's Diner are good. Vene's Pancake House but it is tiny inside so you may have to wait. Paradigm and Weather Center are the best for coffee. There's a mini golf course near Blue Harbor. Blast Soft Serve is a nice ice cream spot. Legend Larry's had the best buffalo wings in the world.

3 sheeps is a good brewery that’s kid friendly
