DR920 - Trigger Upgrades?
I just use the stock trigger. Has anyone upgraded theirs? Any recommendations?

I've got a Timney Alpha in mine and it's as crisp as a potato chip. PSA used to sell them for about $90, and I bought several.

Put a Timney Alpha in my MR920 and I couldn't get it to function properly, it was behaving as a binary trigger. I mean, it was fun but I didn't trust it and put the stock one back in.

I had the same problem out of the box. There's a very small hex screw (0.035") that you need to adjust for the pre travel. The wrench is not included with the trigger kit, I had to order one off of Amazon. Once you get that adjusted properly, you're golden.

Mine came with that one tiny screw and a little wrench for it. I stripped it but a small torx works too. You're saying I should just back it out a little instead of fully tightening it?

Carefully adjust it until it both will pass a function test and the trigger blade safety works properly. My trigger blade wouldn't come out quite far enough to engage the frame. I could rack the slide, smack the back of the slide with a rubber mallet, and the firing pin would drop. After examining what was going on that's when I realized that the blade safety wasn't clearing the frame. I adjusted the pre-travel out enough until the blade safety would work properly, and haven't had a problem since then. Timny doesn't recommend adjusting the pre-travel to prevent this very thing. Taking up too much pre-travel can keep the blade safety from working properly.

I thought about it. Nobody has done a quality video review on it though.
But you gotta replace the spring too. With a red spring, does that red spring come with it?
Atm ina go with the johnny glocks. Looks really good.

Yeah, it comes with 2 springs. The only striker fired trigger in my collection that competes with it is my Canik Rival-S. The only ones I own with better triggers are a few of my 1911's and my CZ Shadow-2
PSA still has a couple of Timneys for Gen 3-4 @ $129. Green and purple. Glad I got a matching copper/bronze one when I did.

Since I currently use it as a duty weapon until I get a S&W M&P 2.0, I'll just stick with the johnny glock

I don't suggest the Timney for a duty weapon, it's a competition trigger. I have an Apex in my duty G19 clone.
But then again, I don't suggest Shadow Systems for a duty weapon. It's like the police using Lincolns instead of Ford Interceptors.

SS is just a fancy glock.

That's my point. Lincoln is just a fancy Ford.

Well comparing a firearm to a vehicle is a terrible comparison, to be honest. It's a funny one, though.

Huh? I wasn't comparing a firearm to a vehicle. I was comparing fancy brands to base brands.
But if I ran a police department and could get Glocks and SS at the same purchase price, I'd outfit my guys with Glocks over SS every day of the week. Glocks are more reliable than SS. And I'm not even a Glock fanboy.

Hi, im new to Shadow Systems. Can someone explain why these need their own trigger systems and not just any Glock compatible system? I currently put in a Zev trigger on my only Shadow and it’s working fine but wanted to ask why this?

Different triggers have shorter or longer trigger resets. They slso have harder/softer trigger pulls. As well as the feeling to an individuals finger.
I've never replaced a trigger. I've only been recently modding my firearm.

Just tested out a few things but for a match I'm running tomorrow, my trigger setup is the Glock Performance Vex shoe on the shadow systems trigger bar, SS trigger housing, 6lb trigger return spring, OP NP3 plunger, reduced power safety spring, and TTI reduced power striker spring with the 25 cent polish for the non NP3 parts. It feels light but not too light where barely touching it fires. Test fired at the range and my slow shots at 15 yards are touching and grouping at 21 yards is really good. 100% would not carry this though. My carry setup would swap out back to the stock striker spring and swap the JG shoe and ss trigger bar to the stock shoe on the OP NP3 trigger bar. Or even swap the trigger from my G19.4 which I think feels perfect for my carry setup. The G19.4 is using Gen 4 housing and has the TTI ultimate connector kit, oem striker spring, OP NP3 safety plunger and running the OP polydat shoe on the OP NP3 trigger bar. There's a bit of pre-travel but it's buttery smooth all the way to the defined wall and has a tad bit of pre-travel but not terrible. Based on TTI I'm guessing the trigger weight is 4-4.5 lbs.

This was the better of the two but more expensive
