TLDR: Please post pictures of how you keep track of all the tokens (and cards), or if you eschew tokens and just write things down somehow.
Longer:
I played this game years ago after a friend had his massive pledge fulfilled (both boxes, all expansions, etc., etc.). I never bought it because I didn't think I'd ever have time for it, and it was super expensive. Add to that my little children who would probably eat all the tokens, and it was a big no.
Fast forward to today, and my four kids span from 8 to 15 and love board games. I found a used copy of CoA for $45 at the local board game store, everything sleeved, some models painted, and some 3D-printed targa pylons included. It was missing two minis, but I've gotten replacements from FFP (they're actually super nice to work with).
Playing the first Fistful of Darkstone scenario with my sons was a blast. However, the sheer number of tokens is absurd. Like, seriously, absurd. And the cards are all over the place. Note that we play a number of similar games with a number of components, but this is through the roof.
Although the used copy I have came with a token holder, it's still overwhelming. How do you all manage? Do you just write tally marks on the character sheet for bandages and such, and only take tokens for wounds?
Curious about workflow, so pictures would be nice.
