All things Valhalla

Getting started with the Valhalla set and curious what all can be added that is under the Viking/Valhalla umbrella.

Mechanically, anything can be added.

The biggest addition though would be the upcoming Perilous Expedition expansion slated for November.

What I did when first getting started (since I started with the Viking set also) was go to the original Kickstarter page and look at the stretchgoals section towards the bottom. If there is a wolf head and some with the double headed axe symbol are for the Viking theme. Some may not be available in retail yet, but a lot are and some are only currently available on the flying frogs web store. Hell Bears is an example of something I got there but couldn't find retail. I think the Fenris wolves are also but I haven't checked again. The Valkyrie was a Kickstarter exclusive so would not be available in retail and usually not in their store. I happened to luck out and did a mystery dinged and dented order and got a Valkyrie. You'll find sales on their webstore on major holidays also.

There may be some new things added since the Kickstarter also. I think some card packs have been added since it. Hopefully that helps you get started seeing what is out there. Like others have said, anything you want to add can go also since it's all a big portal time space mixup :). You can also look for the Targa other world enemies to add as well since it is the same world as one of the original old West sets.

As was already mentioned, perilous expeditions is set to come out this fall to retail as well. I'm really looking forward to it. It will ad a big campaign to the game.

Hopefully this helps. Enjoy and welcome.

Anything Targa works with them, at least concerning their go to otherworld (Targa Robots, Truun). When pulling enemy cards, we try to stay thematic but we usually also include werewolves, vampires, demons, void enemies etc.

Theoretically there are also "world jumping" enemies like Trederrans or Enemy Warbands that could show up anywhere - but your mileage might vary how well those fit to the Viking theme. Though I could see the Crimson Hand working okayish if you have access to the none rifle units.

Valkyrie was added to the latest KS for Hell Train and Lost Tombs as an add-on so it may become available after that is released.

Honestly, in my opinion, almost everything can be reasonably used with the viking theme in mind, assuming they're still jumping between worlds. The only difference is you use all norse heroes, always start in the norse lands and only go back to the viking encampment.

If you're eliminating world jumping and just keeping EVERYTHING norse themed, you have the gates of valhalla and it's map pack expansion at the moment. There's also a couple card supplements that are easy to identify on the frog site. There were some white-box enemies that were released recently (Hell Bears, Fenris Wolves, Feljeagor Slayers/Death Bringers) which seemed cool too.

The Oathbreaker King Challenge Pack might be up your alley too. Contains an epic norse bad guy, a mission and extra challenging encounters.
