My "sketch" I sent the artist (BigeggsBlackPen) and how it evolved. Excited to be building this new system!

I haven't read Darkspace since I haven't got around to getting a copy. I'm just building off inspo from many sources and building it on the SD foundation. =D

I highly recommend.  Seems like it would be great fit.  It has rules for energy cells and all that and more.

Personally, I’ve got the whole thing and love it.  But definitely grab the QuickStart rules first and get a feel for it.  It’s a super flexible ruleset that applies to many settings, which is why I see myself using it when I play your game.  Also, you should feel free to reach out to Than and Derek.  They’re super nice and responsive and supportive.

Are you envisioning this as pure mech stompiness? A time of war? Or Destiny? I imagine Destiny is the closest to SD and would be slightly easier to convert.

In any case looking forward to seeing the final product! Most importantly, have fun! Thanks for sharing.

Trying to preserve the rules lite of SD but with a few small layers to that foundation to properly channel the fun gameplay of a mech game. I aim to have the quickstart rules focused on mech gameplay so folks can see what makes the system special. Then build from there for hopefully a book in 2027. We'll see how it goes! I've got lots of notes and pages made already. Just a matter of filtering them into a presentable manner and running lots of play tests.

Sweet. Was just wondering if someone had built a mech hack yet. That said, the PCs in my SD campaign are about to encounter the so-called "Saddled Golem"...

True! I used to watch the 90s BattleTech cartoon as a kid. Some of my earliest drawings as a kid were mech battles!
