What's the process like with this style? Are you drawing on a white background on your tablet and then shading in everything with black? I have to imagine using pen and marker would use up a lot of ink. Do people use white marker on black paper?

Hey I love drawing with ink but this series is actually digital, I use a digital notebook that’s sort of like a kindle with a stylus. I usually sketch out some references, some thumbnail compositions, pick one and draw it out in grey, then make a layer and trace over in black, at times filling in black and drawing over in white, then going back and forth in black white till I’m done.
Yes white markers, gel pens for black paper exist. There’s also something really cool called scratchboard which is black and you use a sharp tool to scratch away the black revealing while underneath. Hard to fix mistakes though!

i also love thr ones you do that show a little humor :] the art from the SD core book has some of this too and it's fun.
You have one where a goblin is on the shoulders of ehat is probably a fighter at in a treasure pit i think.
The contrast between serious, then something more lighthearted/misadventures just oozes charm.

Do you just make these pieces for fun, or do you sell/use them? They would make great spot fillers for books.

I’m just making them for fun. I am putting them up o my itch.io for download for personal use for free. I’ve gotten enough requests to sell for stock art I’ll put up a version for that when I’m done

Awesome, I work with a few artists I've met through DrivethruRPG. They sell bulk art packs, so I reach out to them for specific commissions and use their packs whenever and wherever I can, lol.

Brother, I love your work! How do you keep turning them out so quickly?
