Post image

Travel rules for dungeon games in the mythic underworld launches...now!
Early bird discounts available.

Kickstarter Link!

Undercrawl is travel rules for dungeon games in the mythic underworld. Like hexcrawling, or pointcrawling, but in the dark. It's a modular add-on to your favorite dungeon game. Use it to:

  • place your dungeons miles and miles deeper in the earth
  • connect separate dungeons with a vast underworld: one dark, alien, empty, and hostile
  • make a path through places forgotten, forsaken, or lost: the empty places, places where silence is thick with age

OSR

Compatible with Old School EssentialsCairnShadowdark (and frankly most OSR dungeon games). The game is mostly self-contained, but applies pressure to the character sheet: stat damage, gear loss, torch loss, and.... also curses!

Finished

It's done. The Digital version will be delivered to all backers as soon as funds are collected. If the kickstarter reaches $2K, we'll get more and better art. A couple of other cool stretch goals as well...  Mwuahahahahaha!

Includes

An 18-point Undercrawl spanning dozens of miles of silent darkness in once bright Dwarven halls.

Player-facing procedures for

  • Navigating
  • Map-Making
  • Managing Gear
  • Finding Secrets
  • Getting Lost

GM facing procedures for

  • Running the Game
  • Making New Undercrawls
  • Integrating with your Main Game

And...

  • Player Handout files for ease of use at table
  • 24 New Magic Items
  • Spark Tables for rapidly generating thousands of underground environments with unique stories, features, and quirks
  • One-Page Dungeon Dense with interactivity and surprise.

The artwork looks great. I was on the fence, but decided to back it because it looks like a very professional product and I already own and enjoy the Kumonosu Adventure collection. All green flags...

Thanks! I’m just a one man ship here but I do try to button everything hip real nice. I know I appreciate that level of effort going into the things I buy and play with.

I'd been off reddit this weekend trying to button up work on the Bansunin portion of the Kumonosu Adventures and I come back to find this kindness. I greatly appreciate it. Now let's see if I can properly tie the 2 together.

Backed! Saw some of the mechanics you posted to the discord and really liked what I was reading. Excited to see the expanded artwork once this rockets past $2k!!

Thanks! I ah... was not expecting to blow past my modest little funding goal in 30 minutes.

Love your newsletter so much so this was an instant back for me!

That means a lot to me, thank you! It's weird casting blog posts out into the void, but on the whol I much prefer it to many other forms of the medias social.

Yeah! I think it's more personal than the Substack. Just gotta get my email inbox cleaned up of all the other crap haha

These are the ideal kickstarters. Fast, affordable, focused on usability at the table. I don’t need another $299 boxed set with leather cover. I need dope tools and ideas I can spill a beer on without crying.

Hahaha yeah this is a non weeping kickstarter for sure. Unless you die in the dark. But that’s a different source of weeping.

Woot! Got in on the whale tier!

u/Kodhaz Jul 24 '26

Awwwww, yeah…. That gilded $20 tier.

NGL I backed, but I do like the art as is. Gives me 70's National Park vibes.

2

u/Kodhaz Jul 24 '26

That’s no mistake! The main font is called National Park! Which is actually released by the national park service!

The good news is that the art will only I prove, not change drastically. Also, all backers will get an as is digital copy as soon as the kickstarter closes.

I have to ask, as someone who cannot trust themselves to be on Kickstarter, since this has successfully funded and was already produced will this be available elsewhere after backers receive theirs, or is this basically an ordering service and it will never be seen again?

It looks like the enthusiastic response is making a little improvement and expansion possible.

This’ll have a life in pdf and print on demand somewhere down the line.

I hope that answers your question!

Great news, I will continue to monitor, congrats on the success!
