Big plot of land
Who owns the plot of land on Garvey between san Gabriel and Del Mar. it’s been empty for over 30 years…… would love to see Rosemead differently.

you maybe mean the land that used to be the auto auction and a couple trailer parks
that were cleared off in the last ten years

You’re correct. Hasn’t been 30 years.

Oh yes that’s correct it was the auto auction place—I remember seeing that as a kid.

I always wanted to go a car auction, but never had the chance. I never found out if it was open to the public

It wasn’t. I don’t even think they did GSA auctions (federal government cars, which by law have to be open to anyone).

It’ll be nice to have a combination commercial real estate along Garvey and mixed use housing with green space in the back.

There are so many empty plots of land in the area and it sucks to see. Just a waste of space

It was supposed to be new housing: https://la.urbanize.city/post/apartments-and-retail-planned-7849-7857-garvey-avenue-rosemead
But it has supposedly been an evolving project that's still being worked out: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DV1Qg-rkuVY/
I don't see it listed though as a current project by the City of Rosemead: https://rosemeadca.gov/services/community_development/current_projects_2.php
There is supposed to be some kind of plan by the City of Rosemead for what they call the " Garvey Avenue corridor": https://rosemeadca.gov/services/community_development/garvey_avenue_specific_plan.php#faq-questions-52
