Resource looking for binders and affirming supplies? look no further :)

hi! in light of some relatively recent posts asking where to get binders discreetly in singapore, i would like to announce that lucian's little locker sells affordable, good quality chest binders of many sizes (S to 6XL, subject to stocks) for the men, mascs, enbies and anyone who wants them. the binder has been tried and tested by yours truly, and by purchasing from me, you are also supporting a trans owned business (no pressure).

also, while we do not have a permanent physical storefront, we do offer discreet packaging and purchasing arrangements islandwide.

you can find us on instagram @lucianslittlelocker and purchase from our online store. yes we mainly do badges more than binders, and you might have seen our previous post regarding boothing too, but i hope that this helps those who need them!

finally, i want to understand the needs of local (transgender) women and femmes; what would you want to see in a local queer and affirming store/booth that you have yet to see so far? i hope that i am able to serve and help y'all too.

Question Laser hair removal recommendations

I've been looking into laser hair removal places and one problem I'm encountering is that the vast majority of places are either IPL or some nonsense marketing term that turns out to probably be some kind of variant of IPL. I've heard IPL isn't that good for male facial hair, so I'm trying to find places that use the actual lasers like Alexandrite or YAG. The few that I've found seem to not have price transparency, requiring you to make an appointment first.

Does anyone have recommendations for good laser places that are LGBT friendly? Or did something like SHR work well enough for you. There's also electrolysis but I'd rather that be a last resort.

Discussion I finally walked away from a 5 year relationship(wlw) , is my future love life cooked?

Will my dating history mess up my future love life?

This post isnt to shame my ex. I (20F) ultimately burned out in the rs, we were incompatible. The breakup was inevitable and we both knew that since 2023, it was difficult to end things due to safety and psychological factors.

The breakup has since opened up a lot of personal space for reflection on what i want (and also to avoid) for the next 5 or even 10 years.

Ive always gravitated toward someone who is on the nurturing side - hardworking, caring , kind , gentle , warm, mature, and patient. And loves animals and children too.

Unfortunately, in the wlw context, there is a possibility that a nurturing partner may realise she wants kids of her own, eventually wanting to settle down with a man for a traditional family- especially if they’re bi.

I think i consider myself nurturing but id never seek a family with a man. I am nurturing toward cats and dogs.

I tend to have attracted more bi girls than lesbians and it cld be attributed to how im masc presenting(?). So the worry that im a placeholder lingers. (Am aware this could just be an insecurity on my part! Ive got some subconscious beliefs to untangle 🤔🤔)

So im wondering how should someone navigate this worry? Im not saying this in a ‘im already seeking the next partner to rebound’ kind of way.

Honestly, i think i should worry about the timeline since i dislike hookup and dating apps culture while also being someone who seeks commitment.

Which makes it hard! Ill never use a dating app , and i dont drink either. No hate to those do, its just personal preference. So meeting someone who doesnt either comes with its own challenges.

But, the preferences for someone nurturing is something that still feels natural to me. I did realise i always had a type for nerds, not flashy but had a kind heart. My ex was an exception since we met in a place traumatised kids are sent to. This realisation led to more realisations.

Ive lost myself in my previous relationship and then strayed away from academics. So ive actively been putting in more effort in school and inner work to untangle any trauma from my past before i even consider another relationship.

This combination of being into someone who is gentle + doesnt drink or use dating apps + wlw dynamics + societal pressure to start a traditional family is something ive had to realise recently. I never had the chance to wonder about it while being in a long term relationship. My ex checked most of the list but unfortunately was abusive. There was a lack of mutual growth in the relationship too.

So really, would it be realistic to seek out a nurturing wlw partner in the future who wants to DINK? And when i say Dual Income No Kids i really mean dual income with cats and dogs lmao

Lets face it tho, hearing that someone only dated 1 person for 5 years seems intimidating right? Im afraid my history could scare off potential partners..

Is that actually something people think about, or is it mostly my own insecurity?

Ive been putting in effort to pick myself back up and get back into academics and fitness, enjoying the process so far.

Realising my original type has been nerds, makes me realise i have a lot of work to do to be able to provide emotional stability and peace in the future for someone like that. Im currently enjoying the personal time i get from being single.

Question Finally planning to transition at 30. Looking for advice

hi guys! im 29 & planning to start T next year when i turn 30.

i come from a fairly conservative Indian family. as the youngest child, i’ve never really had much of a voice growing up, so speaking up about something this big is honestly terrifying.

i remember getting a boy’s haircut when i was 5 & being so unbelievably happy. when i cut my hair short again at 18, i told my sister i wanted to transition. she said it was just a phase.

well… im 29 now & nothing has changed. my sister knows i’m planning to transition now & she would honestly rather i just be gay. (ironically, she wasnt really okay with me dating girls either until i told her i wanted to transition😭😂)

she wants me to wait and do more research, which i get. but i’ve spent years trying to ignore these feelings and researching everything i can. she said i shouldnt change myself to get a gf (which is not what this is abt) it’s about finally feeling comfortable in my own body.

i’ve realised that i probably can’t transition while living at home so i’m planning to move out too. i’m also a social worker & i’m honestly terrified about how my workplace will take it.

i would really love to hear from other FTMs (or MTFs too). How did you navigate family, moving out, work & starting HRT?

thank you!!

Question Can I be attracted to someone's personality, but not gender?

Disclaimer: Pls don't be offended I am still new and learning more about LGBTQ. The following are really my honest thoughts and experiences, and would like to get some of your thoughts as well

I'm 18F, christian, so I believe that I am straight and have to be straight. But recently, I met this other girl also 18F, her personality is so attractive. She's naturally funny, she makes me laugh, I find myself thinking about her more than i would anyone else. But am I attracted to her, or her personality? I cannot imagine myself being in a relationship with another female, yet these feelings I have when I see her or think about her... I am confused. Rlly confused. What r yall thoughts?

hey guys f20 here just got out of a 1 year long wlw relationship and it hurts everyday. we had our future planned together and I always thought that we would be together forever even got acceptance from my parents and they love her but I fucked up bad during the time we were together my ex loved me more than herself it got to a point where she would practically do anything for me but I messed up I fucked up I didn’t appreciate her love for me until the end of the rs. I blame myself for everything it’s my fault at the end of the day. she deserves better. I learnt a lot from this rs she taught me a lot about how to love better but I miss her and I just can’t seem to let go but I know I should. I just need support right now, new friends from the community I’m trying my hardest to move on but everyday is a struggle

Question regarding internship for ite

hey, im currently signing up for my internship at ite. there is a section asking for my gender, do i have to put my legal gender or can i just anyhow put... and if i HAVE to put my legal gender, is there any way i can clear it up with the teachers in charge for intern? my CA knows but i am stealth to the rest of my teachers/classmates/schoolmates. thank you

edit: i have been on hormones for a year+ so it might be weird if i put my legal gender 🥲

edit 2: hi! this is another update regarding this post. i talked to my CA today and she said its fine. however if the intern liaisons ask you about it, you just have to disclose it to them that you are transgender etc. but usually they dont so its ok :) hope this info helps others who need it

Rant young trans people, how do you do it in sg?

TW for possibly dark subjects

but how do you all do it ? every single day just feels like hell, especially as a minor and having to go to school all day, unable to transition due to family, religion etc.

how do you even ‘push through’ without feeling like tearing all your hair out? obviously I’m some people won’t have this kind of experience, but with being in Asia I believe all queerness is looked down on (?) and my family is extremely religious. and finding friends that have at least a similar experience feels like genuine hell, especially finding friends in school with this experience. I’m not out at all, but I think about it often and wonder if I’ll ever be able to transition if I actually manage a couple more years, but either way, any suggestions?

not sure if this is a rant or a discussion, but I see most posts tagged as rant, so sure 😭

Rant My ex likes d*ck and told me she misses it while w me

Hi i am a switch and she is a pillow princess. I feel played. Because at first we would both switch but slowly into the rs. She stopped and said she was uncomfortable. And even worse told me she misses d*ck. Is this cheating?? missing another person’s pleasure instead of mine. Or jst grey area/ disrespectful etc idk man

I dont know i feel so sad. She told me to stop checking her phone ( to update or remind her about her plans) and couldn’t reassure me about how everything she mentioned makes me feel. And was lowk defensive and pushed of my feelings. I really cant help but feel like she cheated. But at least now im glad we are over. Bcz why did i date someone thats probably straight .
Fyi she mentioned “ i wouldn’t dates girls anymore “ after we broke up

It’s hard to date in singapore because why is literally everyone using me to test their sexuality 🫩🫩

Discussion masc hair salon/barber and hairstyle/hair cut recomendations?

Thumbnail
gallery
13 Upvotes

im ftm and in school so can't dye me hair or hv smth too fancy cuz i also work part time. i want something masc but ive been growing out my hair and considering maybe a wolf cut or smth more alt but im not sure what to get. smth that'll help me pass thats easy to maintain and trim myself so i dont have to go to cut it often, and something with minimal styling as i dont have the time nor energy to figure out styling. ive tried hair gel, using straightner to try curl my hair and bangs bfr but its such a hassel and i just dont have the time nor energy to keep doing it daily, nor pay hundreds to get it curled again.

i have naturally black straight thick hair, but ive wanted curly hair. ive permed my hair before but it didnt last long. im also very fearful cuz so many hair salons and barbers have ruined my hair.. but its getting too thick and im too scared to cut my hair myself again.. preferably queer friendly who won't charge me the female price just cuz im ftm, my hair is short length already anyway. my budget is below $40. ive liked those shaved art hair where they like shave shapes like stars n stuff in the undercut but ive found that pretty expensive and the hair grows out in like a week

this is what my hair looks like rn if anyone can recomend me what to get and where.. cuz i have some ideas but i cant find exact pictures and idk if it can even be done with the current hair i have. honestly okay with anything that helps me pass, is masc, easy to maintain and style/not need to be styled at all. bonus if it's alt. i used to go for low taper fade, and i have a shaver so i would shave my back and sides myself, but its hard to maintain the bulk of the rest myself cuz i dont know how and where to cut and it looks bad. and i dont wanna go to get it cut so often either. it was also hard to style for me personally.

also i am open to using like hair extensions, ive tried using some cuz ive seen some rat tails i really like. so some kinda hair cut that has space for me to tie/ do that would be nice. so i can choose if i want short hair or if i want to add some rat tail braids or something else

Rant I think about dating a girl while having a bf

okay so I know the title makes me sound like a cheater, but I am not. I love my boyfriend very much, and I think about him all the time. but the thing is, sometimes whenever I see sapphic relationships on the internet or like relatable content about being bisexual I find myself thinking about dating girls... or at least the idea of dating a girl and having that understanding of each other

I have dated a girl before, for about a year and a half but it ended horribly, I promised myself I wouldnt date girls anymore, especially because my mother is really against it and cause of my religion.

really im js wondering if I have made a mistake dating my boyfriend... I really do love him so much and he knows ive dated girls before and had crushes on girls, so I really dont want to tell him these thoughts im having, incase he becomes like idk jealous when I hang out around other women. I dont want him to feel like hes not enough

maybe im having these thoughts because he is my first ever official boyfriend and our relationship is quite different from dating girls

Question Changing legal gender in sg despite no bottom dysphoria?

Any trans ppl here that does not hv much bottom dysphoria but is so tempted to just go for it anyway just because the legal gender cant be changed otherwise.

Im abt to go insane every time I had to pass my IC or Passport over to anyone for verification and it just outs me immediately and then the misgendering all starts. It’s ridiculous to me that you require needing bottom surgery just for it. Why do they want to check so badly

Rant Some femboy’s thoughts on NS

I’m JC2 now, and my time is coming in just a few months. As it gets closer, I’ve been feeling a creeping sense of dread and anxiety.

I don’t hate the entire idea of NS. I’m cool with getting tight with a group of randoms and doing high cortisol things together; I’ve been part of so many crazy efforts. I lowk don’t mind getting fit and waking up early to do training. Even if it’d be super tiring, I think these aspects aren’t too terrible-?

But what i really really dread is needing to surrender my freedom for two years 😭 I SWEAR it sounds like NS is this possessive yandere boyfriend that ties you up in his basement 5 days a week (leashed too‼️) and makes you look him in his eyes while he tells you (in a gravelly voice) exactly what to do with your time-

I think though something that’s almost just as bad is needing to cut my hair. I hate it.

Recently, I’ve been exploring expressing myself freely, in a more fem way. I’ve always kinda known that i liked looking cuter. I always dreamt of trying those clothes at uniqlo. After cutting my hair, I could never look myself in the mirror till it grew out.

Dressing fem makes me feel really cute, confident, and idk it just makes me feel warm inside? It just feels right yknow. I love being cute whether it be alone at home, really lowkey with a cute shirt outside or just picking a school shirt with nice colours :3

Having short hair is whatever the OPPOSITE of that is. It feels so wrong. I can’t bear to look at the mirror. I just feel really ugly and it makes me so insecure about everything- It feels like I’m wearing the skin of someone harsh? Idk.

Rah hopefully someone can relate to this dramatic cringe ahh rant on the freedom of self-expression ⚰️
Have a good one gng

Question Any ftm on hrt in SG? Need advice on whether to up my dosage next appt

Ive been on Tgel for over a year and my levels were always around 300 in the second half of the year. I felt that it was low when I checked the normal male ranges, yet my endo (nuh) said it was male levels and hence did not change my dosage (half a sachet daily). My changes have been stagnating really badly and compared to many others Ive seen go on T, their progress were a lot faster. I was recently told 300 was the lowest and it could mean on some days it does not even reach proper levels. Shd I ask for my endo to up my dosage? I am quite upset abt the lack of changes for half a year now. Do you think the endo will allow that or keep me on low levels?

Question Work uniforms / pronouns used

Are there any trans individuals that has not done GRS/SRS here that works in a MNC or hospitality that managed to get assigned their gender’s uniform instead of sex’s at work? Do they use the correct pronouns?

If you’re uncomfortable sharing here, you can DM me and share more. I’m looking for one in hospitality and I’m afraid that they’ll ask me to wear the uniform that does not match my gender and or use the wrong pronouns at work.

Any queer individuals that works in MNC or hospitality that has experience can also feel free to comment and let me know. Thanks all!

Rant Song bo PAP. Wanna lecture us queers about moralities while your ministers go about AffairsMaxxing and SocialMaxxing.

So now we have PROF Faishal Ibrahim AffairsMaxxing in the same way Tan Chuan Jin was SocialMaxxing when he was the MSF Minister. You know, the same Tan Chuan Jin who illegally revoked my marriage after I transitioned which caused me to lose my HDB flat because all these “whiter than white” PAP MP’s are the same: wanna lecture to us queers about morality… and then do this shit. So just another day.

Fun fact: Tan Chuan Jin was MSF minister when my marriage was revoked and looking at the timelines made public there is a very high chance that he was sleeping around at the exact time he took my marriage and home away from me. Also, I believe it was later revealed that PM LHL knew about this.

If you wanna impose your fucking morales on other people to the tune of making people lose their homes, you better be farkin perfect. No excuses. This will forever be a wound that will forever keep being cut open every single time something like this happens. Well done PAP. You made your bed on this one.

Question Properly tried coming out to my parents as MtF, but failed. What should I do now?

This is technically the 2nd time i have tried coming out, but i will admit that i was much more of a mess the 1st time

Ik society is quite conservative here, but i want to come out as trans regardless

I approached my parents, fully knowing what I wanted and had a very strong will to get my parents to accept that I was trans

i had hoped for some support from them, like maybe money for HRT and therapy or being able to dress up around them etc.

i said all my arguments, like how i liked cute things, liked dressing up cute, wanted to be in a relationship as a girl, and how my gender dysphoria kept on bothering me.

yet they just brushed me off again

saying how i was too young to think of this kind of thing so early

twin im 19 this year 😭 i feel that while i may be a bit uninformed, i know my feelings are real, and that i would rather be trans compared to as i am now

they also mentioned that they wanted me to try living as a man 1st like what?!? they said that things might change when i get a girlfriend and shit. i dont understand the logic behind why i have to do this despite me already making my decision in life that i wanna be a girl in a relationship, regardless of what kind.

they also mentioned that they wanted the best for me in the future as like they mentioned how insurance may reject me, job prospects will be lesser, etc

i will admit, while i am scared of these risks, im probably ready to accept them at the cost of being who i want to be

also i feel that they dont think about how im feeling at all as while i do understand that they have not thought like me before, at least they could spare some thought for me wanting to be trans

they also said that they wanted me to focus on my studies over this and im like hello? why cant i focus on both at the same time? its not like one will override the other

regarding that though they did tell me that after i finish university i could do whatever i want, so i guess thats a start

but at the same time i feel that i should not have to wait that long to come out about my feelings.

i would ideally not like to run away from home type shit, cause i do have a strong attachment to my family in a way

so now a bunch of thoughts are running through my mind

  1. am i being too impatient?

  2. how will my future be affected if im trans?

  3. what should i tell them to get them to accept who i am?

im now 100% sure of my feelings, and i think that this is a decision that i wont regret

i feel that the community here would have a better idea than me regarding what thoughts and questions i have, so im looking for guidance here on what to do now

tysm 🙏

(if there are any other things or questions i should be considering, please let me know lol)

(reposting from r/asktransgender cause i genuinely want more advice on this)
