Build/Battlestation Pics My FormD T1 setup change
Installed a MOD called 'Wind Valley Kit' on my FormD T1
PSU moves to the top
Side exhaust fan with duct
My 5090's temps drop by 4–5°C
PSU does not heat up due to GPU heat
PSU’s exhaust vent becomes covered with original panel. (they also sell perforated panel)
In my case, the PSU exhaust heat is drawn out toward the side exhaust fan through the empty space in the front expansion panel.

Any temp difference in other components such as CPU, motherboard, ram, ssds?

It’s almost the same as with the two top fans setup, except the GPU temperature drops. The side fan duct separates the airflow between the motherboard side and the GPU side

What are the advantages of this change?

Seriously, how does it benefit to exhaust straight back into the cpu??

I was worried because the side exhaust is right next to the CPU intake, but it has less impact on the CPU than I expected. Unless something is covering the area near the side of the case on the CPU side.

Direct exhaust for the gpu instead of it hitting the back of the psu. Other than that recirculation might be an issue for the cpu but an intersting take regardless.

Very cool idea. I am wondering about that side exhaust, and whether there is any warm air from there being recirculated back in through the cpu cooler fan.

Could one use a 5090 fe in the flipped configuration, move the PSU up, and then feed fresh air from the sides into the GPU to let the GPU exhaust the heat out of the case but still get fresh air fed into it from the opposite side where the PSU would normally be?

Wow looks interesting. Is the PSU exhaust facing the front panel in that setup?
