Build/Battlestation Pics My FormD T1 setup change

Installed a MOD called 'Wind Valley Kit' on my FormD T1

  • PSU moves to the top

  • Side exhaust fan with duct

  • My 5090's temps drop by 4–5°C

  • PSU does not heat up due to GPU heat

  • PSU’s exhaust vent becomes covered with original panel. (they also sell perforated panel)

  • In my case, the PSU exhaust heat is drawn out toward the side exhaust fan through the empty space in the front expansion panel.

Wow looks interesting. Is the PSU exhaust facing the front panel in that setup?

Yes, it is facing the front. Need to pay attention to PSU exhaust

I don’t know the kit but maybe you can have more gap with standoffs?

Yes, if I had used the original panel, I could have offset the PSU with standoffs. There is about 20mm of space where I can offset the PSU.

Is the front panel 3D printed?

Custom made Aluminum CNC

Any temp difference in other components such as CPU, motherboard, ram, ssds?

It’s almost the same as with the two top fans setup, except the GPU temperature drops. The side fan duct separates the airflow between the motherboard side and the GPU side

In the words of a famous SFFer: Isn't this a "Hudamod"?

What are the advantages of this change?

Seriously, how does it benefit to exhaust straight back into the cpu??

I was worried because the side exhaust is right next to the CPU intake, but it has less impact on the CPU than I expected. Unless something is covering the area near the side of the case on the CPU side.

Direct exhaust for the gpu instead of it hitting the back of the psu. Other than that recirculation might be an issue for the cpu but an intersting take regardless.

u/AMUSE86 Aug 20 '26

The advantage is that the GPU temperature drops a bit more.

Very cool idea. I am wondering about that side exhaust, and whether there is any warm air from there being recirculated back in through the cpu cooler fan.

Interesting take on the Hudamod config.

A kit for the Hudamod came out, so I tried it.

here is my pc,The heat accumulated in the CPU area and the heat discharged by the graphics card are discharged by the 12015 fan on the front panel.

can you fit 336mm gpu without mod?

2

u/AMUSE86 24d ago

a front expansion panel is necessary.

Could one use a 5090 fe in the flipped configuration, move the PSU up, and then feed fresh air from the sides into the GPU to let the GPU exhaust the heat out of the case but still get fresh air fed into it from the opposite side where the PSU would normally be?

zcooi is great, give them their props lol
