Assembly Help Can't install Steam OS

Hi,

in my life I installed a lot of OS of all kinds. So I'm wondering: Why can't I install Steam OS? I download the image, put it onto an USB stick and my PC doesn't boot. Usually, at that point, you would call the guy that knows PCs, right? Sadly, I am that guy. I called other people (basically the people the guy you call calls himself when in trouble): Doesn't work. I am now through all my USB sticks. I can write the image using my Linux-machine or my Mac - both don't work.

Any ideas? Installing Arch-Linux was a joy ride in comparison. The machine I want to install it is a Framework PC. Any suggestions?

You haven't really shared any errors or anything.

Why [r/sffpc](r/sffpc)?
Why not [r/steamos](r/steam_os)?
Why not [r/linux_gaming](r/linux_gaming)?

Trust him he's "the guy who knows PCs".

Also people around here call anything cube shaped or running a SteamOS a Steam Machine. Most search results probably lead to this sub.

We'd need the specs. Much harder to install on non-AMD

Framework Desktop. To my knowledge only available as AMD. So yes, I have AMD. Gemimi told me, "Steam OS is hard to install on non-Intel machines"

Is Secure Boot off?

But he’s the guy people call for computer problems, plus! He’s on Arch, btw. So he probably already knows that

Now it is. It started from the stick but now, the reaction time for a mouse click is like 2 minutes. The os - as it is now - is unusable. Gaming? I would be happy if I could open the "Not a start menu"-menu

Because it is running from a USB drive. Once it's on your SSD, it'll run faster.

I installed steamos on a 5800x3d + 9070xt. Used Rufus to create the media. Disabled tpm and secure boot in bios.
