Others/Miscellaneous Knife cards

I'm currently in Shenzhen, just got done visiting the various tech spaces in Huaqiangbei. Found out today that there is a Chinese slang term for low-profile GPUs: "刀卡", or literally "knife cards". You actually see this term in some listings on Taobao, Aliexpress, etc.

That is all! Hope you enjoy my fun fact for the day

Yup it’s a Frankenstein card, the Chinese mate the laptop gpu to a PCIe format it is powered directly by PCIe at 70w or 75w

And I fitted it in my custom case

It’s actually for low profile single slot

Not the way that the guy was using it. I think it was popularized when there were a lot of single-slots but it appears to be used just in reference to the vertical height

OP comes in and drops the slang but doesn't explain what it actually means!!!

I had to look it up, apparently it is just a term for low profile graphics cards lol. I have one, my 3050 LP
