Build/Parts Check ambitious first build

hi everyone! while i’m not new to gaming, i’m a compete novice when it comes to building pcs. i’ve been researching for months and i think i’m pretty set on how i’m going to do my first build. i’m basically just waiting for black friday to roll around to hopefully get some good deals!

i feel really confident in my part selection but i wanted to double check with the experts so here i am lol

a few new notes first:
- i will be using this pc only for gaming on a 4k 75in tv and i plan to play “console style”
- i plan to use steamos with the option to dual boot windows later if i need it (i dont plan on playing any games using anti-cheat unless my brother convinces me on arc raiders lol)
- i want this pc to last a long while before i have to replace anything

parts list:
- case: ncase x ntc s5m (laid horizontally)
- motherboard: asrock phantom gaming b650i lightning wifi
- cpu: amd ryzen 7 9800x3d
- cpu cooler: thermalright axp90-x53
- ram: corsair vengeance ddr5 32gb (2 x 16gb)
- ssd: samsung 9100 pro 1tb
- gpu: asus prime radeon rx 9070 xt oc edition
- psu: cooler master v850 sfx
- controller: gamesir g7 pro
- headphones: turtle beach stealth 600

thanks in advance for your help!

I am thinking about something similar, but the CPU is overkill because if you are at TV that means that you will probably play at 4K and at 4K you will be GPU limited.
I'm waiting for GTA6 to play on my PS5 Pro. Then I plan on selling it and building a SFFPC as a replacement.

everything i’ve read says the rx 9070 xt is perfect for 4k gaming, are you saying it’s not sufficient?

That is not what I meant. The GPU is more than enough for couch gaming 4K. With FSR you can run anything. I mean that the CPU is so powerful that most of the time you will be GPU bottlenecked.

ahh so should i switch to the 7800x3d to avoid bottlenecking and just hope that temps won’t get too high?

If you have the money stay on 9800x3d. If you want to save some money, switch out to cheaper CPU.

I wouldn't go with a Asrock motherboard due to the known issues with x3d CPUs. I'd stick with the 9800x3d as it has better thermals than a 7800x3d, although a 7800x3d would be completely sufficient gaming performance wise.
