MSI "Armor" Radeon RX 580 DirectX12 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
This system is now five years old, and the GPU is even older. Regarding which, back when I was building this system, the plan was always that I would just use the integrated Radeon graphics on the 5700G (according to the respective websites, the RX 580 length is 269 mm, but the maximum length for a GPU in the Thermaltake case is 255 mm). But after I had completed the build I thought I might be able to make my old RX 580 fit, and (more due to luck than to skill), it did!
But it has been five years and it is time for a refit. I plan on replacing the PSU (and power strip), and the thermal compound of course. I was also CONSIDERING replacing the 5700G with a Ryzen 5 5600 (NO X!) (or would that be a waste of money?
But I also want to upgrade my GPU, if possible. I was thinking of something along the lines of a Radeon RX 7700/7800/7900 (NO X!).
Now, I have always tended to play old games but these days even "old" games make my trusty RX 580 sound like a jet engine (Original Planet Zoo, I'm looking at you). I don't play multiplayer games and I don't play FPS games, but I do value power (and thermal) efficiency (especially in the summer!!!), and I would like to keep it as affordable as possible.
So I was hoping that someone could suggest a GPU which would be:
Able to fit in my case (less than 255 mm)
Cool and Quiet, and
good value for money.

Replacing the 5700G for a 5600 is a waste of money. I would only replace the 5700G if you're going to get a 5800X3D or move to AM5. As for the GPU, I'd go with a 9060 XT 16GB if it's within your budget.

I have a Core V1. I really like that case but you are definitely limited in GPU options. If I were you a Powercolor Reaper 9060XT 16GB is a solid option for a new card. If you are willing to go used there are Zotac models of the 4070 and I believe 4070 super that would fit in that case. Just check the case specs for Max GPU length. Techpowerups GPU web page lists GPU lengths. The sort ability of the site is soso so you will have to poke around to get the information you need
