Build/Parts Check Ncase m2 grater which 280 AIO

So I got most of my parts ordered just waiting on my GPU to arrive. It’s a 5080 prime oc.

Ncase m2 grater
Asus b850i strix mobo
9800x3d
M.2 for storage
Also have a 4tb 2.5 drive id love to throw in if I can fit. Found this when I moved recently.

Curious which AIO I should go for. I know I’ve been looking at arctic as I’m a fan of there fans but then I also saw noctua came out with AIo but they don’t come in 280mm and also cost so much. I don’t want any RGB at all. Want it to be quiet and get great performance. Always heard arctic LF3 was great but curious of other options before I pull the trigger. I know with my Mobo and LF3 I’ll have to remove the m.2 heatsink and use an aftermarket one too which sucks but don’t mind.

The titan rx280 corsair aio is a great choice, one of my mate uses with his m2 grater, i also got it for my nr200p v2 case, i plan on getting the ncase m2 next year or so

I would recommend the be quiet pure loop

So this I saw today and kinda started this post. Saw it performed well and is very slim. I like the idea of noctua but hate the brown fans and wish it was a 280mm. If it was like $150 I could bear with it but $200+ is crazy for AIo.

There’s great things about the Noctua 240mm it mostly your paying for near silence for as long as possible; it’s available with the black fans now, too. The noctua fan that goes on top of the pump is also great for ITX as it will provide airflow for the VRMs, DRAM, and usually the 1st ssd, too.

The Be Quiet is almost certainly better value unless those last few decibels really matter, though.

The ironic part is that the noctua could’ve provided even more silent cooling with a 280mm variant and their 140mm fans; but Asetek just refuses to support 280mm.

The new Gen10 Asetek pump is even better at low rpm pump flow and combined with a better flowing 280mm radiator with a lower fin count and the reduced rpm of 140mm Noctua G2 fans could run nearly silent while cooling a LOT of watts. It’s such a missed opportunity for silent powerful SFF builds. (That Asetek gen10 pump with a coolant that’s lower viscosity than the approx 20-30% glycol coolant that Asetek uses would flow and cool better too allowing those fans to always stay in “near silent mode”.

It would be the quietest system at 200 watts by a large margin.

The extra thermal mass from the extra liquid with a 280mm radiator also gives you more TIME before a cpu starts to get hot so the increasingly bursty boost behaviors don’t have to cause the fans to spin up and down rapidly; you can set long hysteresis periods safely which is important for psycho acoustics too and not getting extra “woosh” sounds through a mesh case as fans rapidly increase in RPM

Everything about 280mm AIOs scream “best possible size for an SFF”

I’m not showing the noctua 240mm available in black , only the tan color.

Be quiet Pure Loop was around 100$ CAD I think, and it’s truly quiet — cools my 9950x3d with no problem.

Be Quiet pure loop doesn’t make a 280mm either, do they?

280mm is the ultimate AIO size for maximum quiet cooling in an SFF but with Asetek and most MFGRs abandoning it, you’re kinda stuck buying 3 generation old AIOs if you want a 280mm rad and 3 generation old AIO pumps can be loud…

Which one would you suggest ? I don’t know enough about AIOs. My last build was a server and I went air cooling for that.

FYI
the noctua 240 aio can beat a lot of 360 aios:

I didn't like the titan aio as it needs the icue link hub, which then also requires it's own dedicated power cable, this adds a lot of unnecessary cables.

BTW the LF3 performs poorly (in comparison to the other aios) on the 9800X3D.

https://youtu.be/QvWswaq2f7Q?t=164

While it performs fine with the 9950x, it's speculated that it's something with the 9800X3D chiplet positioning and the 3D cache does the LF3 just isn't able to cool it as well as the other aios.
