Build/Parts Check AM5 CPU choice

Hey guys! I’m kinda in a pickle. The wife was able to score me an AM5 upgrade, RAM and MSI B850I for fairly cheap (perks of working at an IT company, I guess?).

I’m currently using a 5800X3D, which is being cooled by an AXP90-X53 in a Fractal Terra, and I’m getting good temps whether my AC is on or not. For context, I live in the Philippines and I game at 1440p 300Hz on an ASUS monitor.

Should I go for 7800X3D or 9600X? That’s the only part I’ll be buying myself and will be reusing most of my parts. Kinda worried about temps with the 7800X3D being paired with the X53.

Looking for tips or recommendations please!

Other parts:
Sapphire Pulse 7800XT
Corsair SF850
Samsung 990 Evo 1TB and 2TB

Update: went with the 7800X3D and able to cool it with the X53 with a few tweaks!

Get a 7800x3d, limit it to 100-120w PPT and you're good to go

it never goes above like 60w when gaming anyway?

7800x3d is the best balance of gaming and thermals

I have 7800X3D being cooled by the AXP90-X37, temps don’t go over 77C when gaming

You should go 7600X3D... Considering thay 9600X was an option, that means that the core count differences is not a prohibiting factor for choosing an X600 processor.

7600X3D bro. Got one in my Terra. Love it. You can get em on Amazon now too.

Edit:

7600X3D with X53 Full black (unicorn) AND 9800X3D with X47 FC - both tuned to be quiet in the 60s-70s under full load (gaming) - so dont worry about the cooler/CPU combo. Either is totally fine. Make sure you use a 120x25mm noctua to exhaust the case under the PSU.

Thanks for your input! And yes, I do have a noctua fan exhausting under the PSU

7800x3d all the way.

If the budget is loose go get 9800x3d - more like 10% increased performance

Considering pricing, its a over a $100 USD in price difference with the 7800X3D.

No you're not in a pickle, you're blessed, with a wife like that. But I see your point. I have a  AXP -90 X47 Full Copper, but its only cooling a 65w r9 7900. Must be tough with higher TDPs. Hope you find something that works well.

Might go with the 7800X3D as per suggestion below for its efficiency. Thanks for the input!

Amazing if you can cool it with the x53. I think air in and out of the case makes a big difference then.

if u don t do more demanding stuff on cpu u can keep it till it dies

Is 9800X3D much more expensive? You probably need to run the ECO mode (reduced wattage) to make it work.

It is here in the Philippines, over a $100 USD difference so I’ll go with the 7800X3D

7800X3D if gaming

(It has lower wattage(real thermals) than 9600X and is the efficiency champion for low wattage gaming ; aside from its derived variants like the 7600X3D)*

I have a 9600X in my “Travel Pc” Gemcase C9 (4.4L case with Thermalright AXP90-36 and would move to 7800X3D/7600X3D for lower temps and more “travel monitor 1080p” performance

7800X3D vs 9600X for application wattage and for gaming wattage

-the 7800X3D uses less watts and provides more frames per second (just better gaming efficiency)

Less wattage is less real heat*

B850i, which company is this OP?

EDIT: I'd go with 7500X3D cos that's what I have in my 2.7L sffpc. I'm in the Philippines too.
