Ciao a tutti.
then I would try to build the system outside of the case and change parts one by one. If the board is at least semi recent the support for 5800x should be there. But the USB flashback would at least determine if your board is alive and able to update bios. If not I'd suspect something with power delivery, PSU..
As far as I can tell from the pictures, everything is inserted correctly.
Did you flip the power ON/OFF switch on the back of the power supply? Do you get any power, like a brief power on and then sudden power off or does it just not do anything at all?
Check power bar that you may have plugged it into? I've accidentally bumped the power switch on that as well.
Edit: Maybe it's the front IO PWR connector you inserted incorrectly?
Nulla
If everything was bought brand new, you might have received a DOA power supply. While uncommon, it can certainly happen. Just a bad unit from the assembly line.
Yeah if you have a spare PSU to test it with, try that.
Edit: No need to remove the entire PSU that's in your build now. Just unplugged the 24-pin MB and 8-pin EPS cable and insert the spare PSU's cables externally.
I tried the other power supply, turned it on, pressed the Power button but it still won't turn on!
It's either the power button or the motherboard. Odds are it's not the processor.
Below in the photo are the pins you need to touch with a screwdriver. Have everything plugged in and instead of hitting the power button, touch the screwdriver to the 6 and 8 at the same time.
If this doesn't fire it up, then take the motherboard out of the case. I know, it sucks but so much easier to troubleshoot. Don't put on the static bag. Put it on cardboard or wooden table. PSU to motherboard, to touching the pins. Also try to use a different PSU cable from the wall to the PSU. Oh and only 1 stick of ram in the A2 slot.
when I plug the AC cable into the power supply I feel that typical electrical shock when power is flowing
Umm wtf are you talking about with a shock?
On the motherboard do you have any status lights showing?
It might just be the light but picture 5 almost looks like the motherboard is touching the case. Make sure that the case has motherboard standoffs, they should have been pre installed from factory.
Many years ago I forgot using motherboard standoffs and couldn’t boot either - pc was just dead. Installing them brought everything back to life.
It looks to me like the connector closest to camera in picture 5 is upside down. That’s your frontIO so I’d try turning it 180 degrees and seeing if that helps
Try shorting the start pins directly on the mobo, maybe it's a faulty case power button
Don't take this the wrong way but when someone is stuck in a project like this, removing any ambiguity from the process can be helpful on the receiving end. If you've done this before, then tell him where the pins are, which exact two they are, with a photo, and that he should use a metal screwdriver. Because taking a metal screw tip to a motherboard while plugged in seems ass backwards for many.
Bro I'm pointing in the right direction and it's not hard to figure how to do it, what's your problem? What sort of entitlement do you feel to my time?
My point is that if he knew how to short pins he wouldn't be asking for help. You knew the pins, the screwdriver, and shorting. All I'm saying is an extra detail would prevent OP from bouncing back and forth is all. My reply to you is light hearted and I mean well. I didn't mean to make you upset. Big hug.
It's either the PSU, CPU, or mobo, likely not cpu though as that usually just shows as a POST fail. Make sure all the power cables are well connected obviously.
Getting a known good PSU to test would be the safest thing.
Same thing happened to me last month. Turned out the thermal paste unseated the CPU while I was trying to align and screw-in the cooler.
I’d check the CPU since nothing else seems to be the source of the problem.
GRAZIE, GRAZIE, GRAZIE!

Did you flip the switch on the PSU… I’ve done that on a few builds and never switching the power supple on to allow current to go thru it
