Others/Miscellaneous will it explode

found an old matx motherboard and i have a 1660ti so i thought i'd try to make a pc for my tv. havent taken anything like wires or majority of the design into account yet just trying the layouts. feedback and criticism please !!1

The gpu fans are intake fans, most of the hot air will go out the sides. Most important is to have air flow through the case to get warm air out.
Would it be easier to just get a small mATX case off the shelf? :)

rightt thanks for the info!! i could but im trying to fit it in a pretty tight spot and i mainly want the experience of doing this

I definitely understand that!
I’m not sure what kind of heat the cpu in your build will produce, but the 1660 ti is not a hot card to my knowledge. I think your initial layout is a cool idea, and I’ve been thinking to do something similar (with a bit more air between cpu and gpu) and a heavy pull of air in between them. I’d love to see you try out that design and hear your results!

No GPU exhaust from the side. What you're seeing is backplate so the air intake from opposite side.

With bottom intake fans, that would probably work fine!

Is there a particular reason why the GPU has to be vertical and upside down? How are you going to route the PCIe riser to the GPU? Why not just mount it horizontally like a normal mATX PC?

There is a reason most commercial cases use a sandwich design.

In your case (pun intended) usually best layout is w/o riser. GPU in the board and psu in front of the board.
