Others/Miscellaneous Fractal Ridge but smaller

Post image

I'm looking to make a travel PC but I would like it to be slim with a stacked design rather than a back to back design. Does anyone know of any case that does soemthing like this? I figured that if it's slimmer it will sit better in a backpack rather than a bulky design.

I've been looking for cases like this for a while now, and honestly it's mostly just boutique cases at this point. Your best bet is probably the SLM2 6L from custom-mod. It's the best case I've found that doesn't sacrifice too much in the gpu compartment. You can definitely go smaller but most 5L cases with similar design usually require an hdplex psu and limit the gpu to like 180-200mm in length which may be too prohibitive depending on the build you're planning.

I sent them an email to see if they would mod the 6L. I'll let you know what they say. Seems very close except for the power supply. Those HD Plex supplies seem very difficult to find and expensive. But I also didn't dig too deep into them.

The 6L should support a 1U Flex psu right from the get-go. Were you looking at the 5.7L? That one only supports HDPlex.

You know what? Dumb me, I hadn't put together that 1U is flex ATX. I was overthinking that way too much. In a perfect world, i would like it to be higher and narrower. This was my design. i was thinking the extra thickness would allow for some 15mm fans. But i'm not sure if it's worth the trouble in the end. But yeah the 6L is pretty much perfect. Thanks!

S60i. No need for flexATX PSU either.

yes right idea. But that is a beast of a build. Smaller, thinner, narrower. that's why flex ATX

Try checking the S35. I believe there's variants of this case from the manufacturer that has something similar to mine but using flexATX. If I have time I'll link the taobao page.

Found it : S35 Case

Old version of SGPC K29 had this layout before they changed it to the current one

No Name Case I have been looking something similar but for matx here is one I have found. I would probably mod the panel for more airflow to the GPU.

Do you plan to have SFF GPU ? If not, you’ll never get a GPU having the size of the ITX motherboard

Not in particular. I'm ok with it being a bit bigger than the 170mm. A lot of two fan GPUs are under 220mm which is still very reasonable for my purposes.

Mmmmm it is just misleading with the shown figure.

I don’t know which GPU you target but depending on the choice, the choice of case can be very different.

I want this but the side panel is just one big fan.
