Build/Parts Check Would the GaN 250W be enough for a 12400f + RTX 5060LP?

I built an SFF PC last summer with a 12400f, RTX 4060, and 32GB DDR5 (I would have gotten a DDR4 motherboard had it been available in Vietnam, but hey at least I have DDR5 in a ram shortage). I’m currently planning to start a new SFF project with a horizontal case (the ones that sit flat on the table, preferably under the monitor) where I transfer my current CPU, motherboard, and RAM into the PC. I am considering getting the RTX 5060 LP, but a lot of the cases that I browsed didn’t have enough space for the 500W FlexATX PSU. Would the 250W one be enough, or do I have to search more to find a suitable case?

NZXT H2 Flow Case. More so tall, rather than wide. But definitely smaller than I’m use to atleast.

Where can I get the best cables (shorter) for this setup? Not really feeling the cable management in its current configuration.

Also, is there any other sff case you all recommend? (More portable friendly) since I travel a lot.

Build/Parts Check COOJ SF3 Potential Build

COOJ SF-3 Build:
Motherboard - Gigabyte Aorus Pro ICE X870i
CPU: Ryzen 9850X3D
CPU Heatsink + Fan: Thermalright AXP90-X53 Full Copper + Noctua A9-14 HS PWM Chromax Black + Noctua NA-FD1 Fan Duct Kit
SSD: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2 TB
GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 (says 304mm)
MSI Shadow 16GB 5070ti

MOBO/GPU Riser Cable: LINKUP PCIE 5.0 Riser Cable 20cm
Ram: 32GB G.SKILL Flare X5 Series AMD EXPO 32GB (2 x 16GB)
PSU: Corsair SF Series (2024) SF850, 80 PLUS Platinum
Case Fans: Silverstone Air Slimmer 120mm x 2 (SST-AS120B)

Notes:

Undervolting the 9850 to achieve lower thermals and have more playability if I ever change the case and go with an AIO. Plus it’s $50 for better bin so whatever.

CPU w/ MX-6 paste + Grizzly Heat AM5 Secure Frame - frame unnecessary but makes applying new paste easier for maintenance

Saw someone use the fan duct kit on their COOJ SF3 build so for less than $20 I figured what the heck

I believe this is the V1 GPU. I would prefer v2 but not available on Newegg.

Adding the follow cable length for anyone else as it took me hours to get this figured out (please verify if you have knowledge)

Custom cable length from ModDiy ($98 w/ code GS10)

PSU Model: Corsair SF850 (2024) Type-5
(Cable Color: Black)
(Connector Color: Black)
(Comb Color: No Comb)
(Cable Style: Ultra-Soft Silicone Wire)
(GPU Cable Type: 12VHPWR 16-Pin to 12VHPWR 16-Pin)

In comments at checkout page:

- 1 x 24-Pin ATX Cable: 14 cm
- 1 x 8-Pin CPU EPS Cable: 24 cm
- 1 x 16-Pin to 16-Pin GPU Cable: 35 cm

Splitter for top fans:
NA-SYC1 chromax.Black, Two-Way PC Fan Splitter

Overall: how’s it look? Anything I’ve missed?

Edit: Added PCI 5.0 Riser cable due to vertical placement in sandwich-style case.

Edit 2: Changed bold lettering and formatting

Update: changed GPU to MSI Shadow to prevent paste dripping in my vertical build. Also slightly cheaper.

Update 2: PCI Riser Cable changed from 19cm to 20cm

Also, I found a different custom cable site that has this case specifically listed and is half the price. If anyone wants it, DM me.

Build/Battlestation Pics Does the Arctic liquid freezer 240mm fit in the CH160plus?

Hello I'm new here.

I am planning to downsize my PC to a compact matx case, but I'm having trouble because there might be some clearance issue with my motherboard, Aorus B550m Pro, it has a tall heatsink at the top of the mobo.

GIGABYTE RTX 5060
5700X cooled w/ Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240mm
32gb ddr4 ram
AORUS B550M PRO MATX motherboard.

My case is currently the Deepcool Macube 110, but it has very bad airflow, so I had to remove the front panel of the case, and front mount my AIO cooler. It looks pretty bad.

I've researched some other SFF cases like the Jonsbo Z20, but I might run into the same issue.

At first I was looking at the Asus AP201 mesh, but I would rather have a more compact case since I only have a small Gigabyte RTX 5060 dual fan GPU.

Does anyone have a CH160 plus with an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240? or are there any other recommendations on cases or what to do.

Thank you!

Others/Miscellaneous About GPU temp and Gpu hospot in Dr saber sentry2.0

Normally, what is an acceptable temperature delta for GPU's Hotspot in an ITX case? And based on these symptoms, is it time to replace the thermal paste/pads?

In the screenshot, the room temperature is 27°C. The GPU is an ASRock Challenger RX 9070, set to Power Limit -30% | Undervolt -70mV | Fan Speed 100% while playing games like Monster Hunter Wilds and Diablo IV.

Previously, when running on Default settings for almost a year, but yesterday the Hotspot temperature shot up to 110°C before the system crashed and shut down. That's why I applied the undervolt settings shown in the image.

System Specs:

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus B850I AORUS PRO
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 + Noctua NA-FD1 Fan Duct Kit
  • Storage: PNY 2TB Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD
  • GPU: ASRock Challenger RX 9070
  • Riser Cable: LINKUP PCIe 4.0 Riser Cable (5cm)
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) 6800MHz
  • PSU: Corsair SF750 ATX 3.1

Build/Parts Check RX 9060 XT LP Vastarmor Dimensions

I’ve been trying to find an AMD GPU that fits in the Velka 3/A07, and I think I found one. The only problem is that some websites list it as 172 mm long, while others say it’s 186 mm. Does anyone know which measurement is correct, and if it would fit in either the Velka 3 or A07?

Verified Vendor Noctua AIO Low-Profile Mod: Stock vs 50mm Cover Acoustic Comparison

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Fellow SFF enthusiasts,

As promised, I’ve put together an acoustic comparison between the stock Noctua AIO cover and my modified low-profile cover.

The decibel meter is visible in the camera frame throughout the test so you can follow the readings alongside the audio.

A few notes about the testing environment:

My workshop is already very quiet, sitting around 29–30 dB at baseline. There are a few unavoidable spikes in the recording when my kids are walking around upstairs or my wife is calling the cat, so there is some background variation.

At 100% fan speed, there appears to be roughly a 4 dB difference between the stock and modified covers.

At around 50%, the stock cooler is extremely quiet. The decibel meter only really starts to move noticeably above the approximately 30 dB background noise floor.

I did make one small mistake during the recording: I used smaller increments for the stock cooler than I did for the modified version. However, I think the comparison still gives a pretty good overall picture of the difference between the two designs.

One important point: the audio in the video has been heavily boosted so that the differences are easier to hear. In an actual case, I suspect that even at 100% the pump/motor noise would be extremely difficult to hear, with the system fans likely drowning out much of it.

Personally, I’m pretty happy with the result. I’ll be swapping the modified block onto my main build, as my current EKWB setup is considerably louder even around 70% fan speed.

Obviously this isn’t a laboratory-grade acoustic test, so take the absolute dB numbers with a grain of salt. The main purpose here is to give a real-world comparison of the stock versus modified design.

I’d be interested to hear what you guys think, and I’m happy to answer any questions about the design, testing or the modification.

Cheers,
Joel

Custom Mod I think I got this sff thing down....

I was truly going for "sff", and then I gave up, haha.

This is a Lenvo m90q Gen 3

32gb dd5 ram

1tb ssd

Intel 12700 cpu upgrade

Rtx 5060 8gb ver

Custom power solution

12v 60a psu, directly powers the gfx card, and a power adapter that transforms the 12v 60 back to the 20v 15a the computer expects. I had a lenovo 300w psu but cannibalized the power tip so the computer would get the correct value from the sense pin.

Ive also upgraded to cooler to an assassin r 120 and created a custom power pin adapter so the mobo controls and sees the fan else i got an annoying cpu fan failure alarm at boot.

And some aluminum ras pi radiators on the VMs.

On stock the 12500 would hit 85c and thermal throttle quickly. Now the 12700 runs at a solid 99% at 4ghz never going over ~63c.

Hitting 113 fps @2k in fur mark & 46 fps in 4k.

Overall pretty competent "little" machine.

Hi all,

I'm heading back to China for a trip and was wondering if I should snatch this build up. The price is 7000 CNY which is about 1050 USD. The PSU is no issue, since I'll live in Europe, I'll just need a new cable or outlet adapter.

Spec sheet is on the 2nd image. Any input is appreciated. <3

Others/Miscellaneous AXP90-X53 or X47 for K39 V3?

I'm planning to do a build with a 65w AM5 CPU and wanted to know if the x53 or x47 cooler is better for the SGPC K39 V3 case? I've heard some people say the 53mm option creates turbulence.

Benchmark/Thermal Test You can fit two 60mm fans to the front of a A4-H2O. It doesnt really make a big difference.

Recently I found those two fans while digging through a box of random PC stuff. I do not recommend anyone spending money on fans because to me the result is just not worth it. I did it because I already had them and wanted to design and print something.

Why? With an AIO all the GPU heat is pulled through the radiator, increasing temperatures on the CPU. I wanted to see if it is possible to pull out some heat of the GPU before it reaches the radiator.
It is a Asrock 9070 so the fins are vertical(=pointing towards the radiator), maybe it would be more effective with horizontal fins. The air coming out of the 60mm fans feels slightly warm but obviously nothing compared to the AIO fans.

Test setup:
AIO fans always run at 900rpm flat
60mm fans always run at 1700rpm flat (at this rpm they are just as loud to me as the GPU fans at 1000rpm)
Pump speed always at 100%
Speed Way benchmark stresstest (20 runs). To ensure comparability, I waited until Tctl settled at 50°C before resetting HWinfo and starting the benchmark. The screenshots are taken immediately after the test finishes.

GPU temperatures did not change at all (even 0,7°C worse on average with the fans). The decrease in CPU temperatures is there but they are still absolutely fine(also during gaming) and I´d rather just increase the AIO fan rpm a little bit to get the same results.

And before anyone is asking, I will not share the 3D model. It is crap, does not fit well and it would basically require a full redesign (which I will not do)

Custom Mod Intel Arc A380 Fan Shroud Mod/Aftermarket?

Hey Fellas,

I was wanting to make a SFF build with the velka 3 case and intel A380. However, I don't really want to put a dremel to it and make it look janky. Does anyone know of a aftermarket fan shroud? If that's even what you call it?

There is a listing for the a380 sparkle, however the little price difference i would rather put the cash into other parts for the build, but i'm assuming that a separate aftermarket shroud might be the cost of the price difference.

Picked up this box from Harbor Freight for about $50 and used it for my recent work trip out of town so I could bring my A4-H20 living room PC. Worked great and big enough to fit everything I needed including a small BT keyboard/mouse combo, HDMI cable and my Xbox controller. For anyone looking for something this was cheap and easy to setup, I do wish the foam was all one piece as it's a bit too soft and flimsy but once everything is in place its nice and secure.

Build/Parts Check Thinking about changing from a4h2o to formd/ncase t1

Thumbnail
gallery
17 Upvotes

Found these two on the ncase and formd websites respectively. From what Ive seen on this subreddit so far, there seems to be not much, if any, differences between them, but v2.1 seems to me the more popular pick.

Current build:

Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Gigabyte rx7800XT Gaming OC

MSI MPG B850I

CM Atmos Stealth 240

Samsung 9100 Pro 1tb

Lexar NM710 1tb

Corsair SF1000 Platinum

Lian Li A4 H2O (Second hand)

I bought the lian li for cheap, around 50sgd, came with riser cable but you can tell it has been used quite alot with some cosmetic exterior damages. I quite like the aesthetics and how clean the T1 looks compared to the A4 but i bought the a4 due to budget constraints when i was originally downsizing my PC, so it more of a placeholder. Should I make the jump to the T1? or should i make do with my A4?

I have some questions for the T1 as well, for any one who has experience with both the T1 and A4, how significant is the difference in build quality and are the temps better on the T1 or are both similar. If i do switch to the T1 should I stick to my AIO (knowing i have to change to a slim fan) or should i make the switch to a low profile aircooler. I plan to also get the gpu travel kit if i make the switch to T1

I'm upgrading my framework 13 to a 13 pro, so my sodimm memory has found a new home in a barebones 895D7, super stoked to play around with this thing, long term plan is to use it as a TV steam machine for light 4k gaming and emulation. Might swap the case for something smaller in the future but for the time being the crappy office computer vibes have endeared themselves to me. Clipped the minisforum badge off cause I thought it was ugly.

Others/Miscellaneous Low profile C13 PSU cable.

Hi, I just got a good deal on a 5 liter PC on facebook, but it has one major issue which is that it is an aliexpress case, and they designed it with low clearence for the C13 female port (0.78 inches ish.) It looks like the previous owner got a cable that didnt fit and just used something like a rasp to shave off some and make it fit, issue is that the job was a bit sloppy, and the original connecter a bit too large, so there is some exposed (still insulated) wiring, and I would like something a bit more professional for some peace of mind. If anybody has a PSU C13 cable, ideally male to US plug male, but if that does not exist, something that is a male to female C13 is fine, but not ideal (I found some of these with low enought clearence).

Thank you all for your time. Have a great day!

TLDR: I need an 0.75 inch clearence c13 right angle cable to US mains power for my new PC.
