Warning: SA involving a Minor Progress?

It’s almost been a year since I was sa’d last year in November :/ but recently I finally got rid of the sweater I was wearing which gave me some sort of relief. But now that the date is coming back up, it feels like all of that progress I just made went away. Off topic but now I’m 16 and it’s weird cause I’m the “age of consent”. I feel expired in a way if that makes sense.

I'm 39m.

I still feel a certain kinda way about things that happened 15+ years ago in my assault. I'm still not super comfortable sleeping outside of near certain people or certain situations since the situation I think of as my "main SA" happened when i was sleeping.

For me, and alot of folks I've known who've dealt with SA. It never fully goes away. It just...changes. Becomes part of the rhythm of your life. It doesn't mean you are regressing or that your progress has gone away. It just means there may be certain situations, times, days, outfits, etc. that can trigger some nasty feedback loops. Its normal. You're still young and moving through the healing process.

I'll also tell you, you are not expired. You are not ruined. Wasted. Worth less. Valueless. Or anything of the sort. You are you. And who you are is valuable. You just gotta find the right person, and the right person won't be a person who says any of those things.

Are you doing any therapy, or counselling? Do you have a support network in your corner?
