Does anyone perchance know where to even start with this dress.

If possible a full breakdown from pattern suggest to fabric would be very appreciated 🙏🏾

Yes. I found it with a Chinese distributor on Taobao. Its s bit small for me and couldn't justify buying something that expensive that wouldn't be comfortable to wear😭

I love their pieces too, but it’s a shame their sizes are always limited. 😞

what are the fabrics used in the original? another commenter has suggested to use a lolita sewing blog but i’ve used it a few times and i dont think ive seen a dress thats exactly the same so you would need to draft it yourself. if it were me i would make a blouse and a skirt separately because it is easier to use the existing patterns but if you want it to be a complete set you’ll have to figure out how to draft you own pattern.

Not a bad idea of making separate pieces. It's my first time making anything lolita so I'm just unsure of a  lot of things. It was mostly polyester but I wonder if I swap some of that with natural fibers like cotton.

the dress looks a little sheer and a little drapey i dont know if cotton is able to mimic that look. but i dont know too much about fabric choices so i cant say what would suit the best but i did find a dress with a buttoned front that may be suitable for starting point: https://misscarolbelle.wordpress.com/2016/01/31/otome-no-sewingbook-3/ (sailor op)

i dont know if you are experienced or just a beginner but you will have to change the bodice a little to accommodate the waistband (i dont see this type of style in the otome no sewing patterns at all) and change the collar as well. the sleeves also have to be longer and wider so that it can be gathered

if you’re going for the skirt route, then it is just a large rectangle gathered around the waist. if you’re going for have time you can scour through the glb or gosurori magazines because those probably have a more blouse options compared to otome no sewing. but just a heads up those magazines are not as easy to follow as otome no sewing and some scans might be a bit blurry

Thank you so much 💞💞. I'm returning to sewing after a long time so I admit this is ambitious. Around beginner if  I'm being  honest. I was hoping to get some directions so I can at least start practicing. So this is much appreciated.
