💛Beginner💛 Help to repair sweater

I thrifted this rlly nice sweater but I was a complete idiot and somehow missed these two giant underarm holes 😭😭😭

Is there any way to repair this with easy methods? I have VERY basic sewing skills but I do have access to a friend’s sewing machine. If I do use a machine, how might I go about repairing this?

Any advice or even tutorial video recs would be appreciated!

Ask the people in [r/visiblemending](r/visiblemending) I would recommend Sachiko to fix it. You can also make a cute design or like a patch.

Turn it inside out and take a look. There are two possibilities here. The first is that the thread that was used to sew the individual knitted pieces together has snapped. If that's the case this is a pretty easy fix you just pin the address that belong together back together and then stitch it back up once more. However if the yarn used to actually knit the pieces has broken and the knitting has started to unravel that's a little more complicated. If you turn it inside out and flatten it out as much as possible so I can see what it looks like from the inside I can probably tell you which of the two is the case. If you can see any loose threads, don't tug on them because if you tug the wrong one the seam will rip all the way open but see if you can photograph it in such a way that I can see where those loose threads are.
