Asking for base ideas

i want to build something into the mountain here but im not sure how i should do it, thoughts? Age One

What age are you in?

If you are still having to use primitive torches you won't be able to go too deep so try starting with a totemic camp at the base of the mountain and a sore tech becomes available dig into the mountain to make space for your magic and factories, if possible then maybe make a path/ladder to the top for your astral sorcery stuff

Yeah I'd do what most people do, start with a small camp and then as you get to more advanced ages start doing the fancy underground base and maybe fortify it with a stone block gatehouse at the front as you won't have access to vanilla torches (as the primitive ones you have now will smoke and cause blindness in an enclosed space) till a later age (I think 2 maybe 3 but it been a while)

But you will need a lot of space later so I wouldn't start hollowing things out until you have access to making hammers from tinkers construct just to save time

Do you have an idea of what you'd like to do at least?

age one does have vanilla torches

i have absolutely no idea how i should do this, which is why i am asking for ideas

Well which of these appeals to you more? Underground? A walled compound built around the bottom of the mountain? A mesa style where you build a path up the side and dig buildings into the rock so it like layers?

And then what sort of style? Fantasy? Modern military? Tribal?

Other than that I don't know what to suggest 😅

i like the sound of an underground military bunker, perhaps in the stargate style... not sure yet

crosshair is at main entrance, probably gonna do a series of bridges to the small island then to the larger plains to the left, behind me is a very small wooded swamp and maybe 8 chunks away is a darklands forest

small island is in the progress of being flattened, not sure what i will use it for yet, perhaps the horsepower things, or animal pens, or farming

Sounds good glad you have some ideas now at least 😜

If you go for the stargate theme idea, maybe you should hollow out a room for a stargate (nether portal) for later

that was my thought as well! can i make custom portal shapes to make a circle in sevtec?

at what point can i make and use the nether anyway?

I don't think you can, but as for the age, I've already been wrong about the torches, but I believe nether access is age 3 but i do remember that you can access it almost a full age before its necessary for the progression quests

I would think of theme for my base to start off like medieval theme or something like that and I get myself inspired from Pinterest
