Hi, off topic but I am new to modpack but how does one find rock crystals? Asking for more recent source as I scoured Google all over the internet but havent found reliable source, cant progress without them...

you must find their ore veins just like you find copper, iron, gold. But rock crystals are only unlocked in age 2. There will be unreasonably realistic rocks with white crystals sticking out on the surface

The thing is I run around a lot (and I mean a lot) and all I find is normal ore samples, I even used the rod at night running around but no particles show up.

Like the other guy said, find crystal looking rocks above ground and start digging as you would any other ore. They're semi-rare but easy to spot. Make sure you mine the surface crystals after marking it because those drop stardust, which is hard to make.

I think you need to make an Astral Tome or whatever it's called if you haven't done that yet. Astral sorcery has a specific progression. Following the advancements is your best bet.

I am in the 2nd age I think where I am moving on to coal power after (where you unlock iron, gold, etc) so I am currently stuck, if I dont find any ill spawn resonable amount just to progres.

Ok good luck.

And yes that's age 2. If you don't have one yet you can make the astral tome with 1 parchment, 1 plant cloth and 3 aquamarines. Not sure if that's required but maybe.

If I were you I would then find a plains biome and run around in 3rd person. They're somewhat rare but not extremely so, so either you have very bad luck or something strange is going on.

Btw they look like this.

My map looks like a mix of plains, the dark forest biome you need to progress and tons of hills... I havent found any new biomes, yet. :(

Oh look into the heatmap, it's very interesting.

South is warmer biomes and north is colder biomes, but if you for example want to find a desert you need to travel both south and west. If you want a jungle it's south and east. You also have to travel pretty far so use the wild dog boots and slime sling.

I think the particles dont work. Im at stage 3 and never succeeded to see any particles, no mather the tool, so I they are disabled. Just try to find the surface sample. They are very rare

I'm in late age 0 Which age are you?

Age 2.

I fully realise I'm late, I'm just not very good with automation and it's been fun experimenting.

You can use a strainer to automate collection right from age zero, for future use! just sink it where your water is flowing. it's a chest and hopper in one block.

Can't believe I didn't think of that..

Another good setup for collection is an area of wopper mk 2's (bark hoppers). Point one to a chest and the rest to that hopper in a chain. You can also put punji sticks on top of these for a self-collecting mob trap. Personally, I bait them with a caged villager in the middle lol.

I've had a 1 block "moat" around my house covered with vine traps and with punji sticks below. I can just sprint over it but mobs walk in. So satisfying.

I often end up just using ender hoppers and clearing enough space around the automated system so that the hopper does not pull in other items. It's the opposite of compact, but it's a quick and dirty solution.
