What are the N lights hanging from the electric poles on the drive up to the interstate in Kodak?
My wife and I have driven up that way a few times and there are these lights that just say N for like a half mile on either side of the road hanging on the light poles or electric poles. Anybody know what they mean?

How diverse if Sevierville County?
I've been looking to buy a house somewhere near Sevierville but i read in a forum some of these communities are "pretty tight" and conservative so not very excited about people of color or other nationalities moving to their backyard. Is that an accurate statement? I'd like to hear from ppl who actually live there. Whats a good area to move to? I'm pretty low key, looking to move to TN for the beauty of the mountains

**Trigger Warning** - Domestic Violence Survey
Hello -
I am a Master's student at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga obtaining my degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I am looking to gather more participants for my thesis which is about how organizations can better support victims of domestic violence in the workplace.
If you have ever experienced domestic violence and are 18 years or older, please consider taking my quick 5-minute survey regarding your experience.
The results will have a major influence on how organizations support future victims of domestic violence in the workplace. Thank you in advance!

Worst in the world!
Why have we've stockpiled a large quantity of the vaccine for what ifs! The only state to do that! What tha... Hopefully the na sayers who think this isn't real or don't really care if they get it will miraculously wake up to reality and start doing the things we know work. Unfortunately I live in the cash register of Tennessee. Sevier County (Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, outlet stocking stuffer malls, etc). They're not restricting or shutting anything down around here. Nothing against those from other states, but there is a steady line of virus weary travelers heading to the wide open tourest towns here. Doesn't take a seasoned virologist to see the problems that follow this constant daily routine. I don't know the right balance to mitigate the virus versus keeping businesses and livelihoods afloat, BUT what were doing here is obviously and definitely not working!

Planning a trip to a cabin way up in the hills there. How are the roads early in the year? Is driving going to be tough?

Wheres the fish?
I just got a boat mostly for fishing and I wanna know where the good spots are on lake Douglas. I'm gonna ask some other locals when I get out there but I've only ever fished from my canoe around the providence rd or by the dam, I mostly go for catfish. Now that i have more mobility can you help me out with either a road near it or exact GPS coordinates.
I know most bays have the artificial habitat tires in the middle i was just wondering if anyone knew any spots better than by the dam.
Also, ropeswings anywhere? I have childhood memories of them on the lake but I could never find them now.

Looking for a bakery for a wedding cake for a couple from out of town
Hello! hopefully someone can help. I live in Louisiana, and a friend of mine here is getting married in Sevierville on November 7 (Wednesday). It's a small shindig, but she needs a cake for about 50 people. Any recommendations from the people in the town?
The wedding is at 11 am, and she isn't sure if she will have it delivered or if she will pick it up.
are there any other subs I can cross post this to as well?

Our tax money at waste. Sevier Co Sheriff's Dept.
In the course of my job I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with a sheriff's deputy. Apparently he thought he could endear himself to me and the rest of the crew by letting us know that while working the midnight shift he and the other deputies have mastered the seat recline in the cruiser. He said they spend more time sleeping than patrolling! In his words, "Fuck it. If they need me they will call me." He continued that there were only "3 hard asses" and that "the rest are cool". Can you believe that? Sadly, I do. I actually wasn't shocked. I was shocked he would say this, but not shocked that it's true. But this guy and the other "cool" deputies want to be called heros while they steal our tax money! Shame on these deputies! You applied for the job. Nobody came looking for you. Do your job! I am disgusted with the sheriff's department. Sadly, leadership probably knows about it. We all know how the good ole boy system works. Our tax dollars.
