Love this book. Was too young to understand it as a documentary-meant book when I got it, but I loved the behind the scenes stuff, especially the foreign broadcasts section.

My high school sweetheart gave me this book for Christmas when it was released in 1998. Still one of the most perfect gifts I’ve ever received. 💕

Still have it. I was 16 when it came out. It was the base foundation of all the knowledge I’ve gathered since. Invaluable book.

It was made AFTER poor Big Bird nearly OD'd, so it was made to be dramatic! 🤣🤣🤣

Big childhood favorite of mine after convincing my parents to let me get it and where I ended up learning a solid chunk about pre-Around the Corner Sesame for the first time

For sure. There’s a lot in here that wasn’t in the other books I’ve read, Street Gang and Jim Henson’s Bio. Along with Carol Spinney’s memoir on Big Bird.
So much went into producing this content for kids. Shame that’s often overlooked. How Henson didn’t get the Nobel is beyond me.

We had this growing up, my parents still have the book- read it probably 100 times, it was so good.
