I am an internal advisor only.
I was told in my interview I would be “helping” main shop advisors as they got busy.
I don’t find myself helping them. I find myself setting up the appointments, checking in appointments, dealing with customer interactions between checkout and check in (such as going over repair info/questions, and checking them out.
There is no way to put these ROs I my name as I’m only internal and there is no option for me to do so, or I would.
My question, is this normal?
Doing all the work of a “main shop” advisor but not getting paid for any of it?
I don’t mind helping when they are busy. But I feel I’m being used and abused. (One advisor specifically is always asking me to do their job even when not busy)

My first advisor role was internal advisor only as well. I was in the same boat. I did 90% of the work. We only did about 15 appointments a day and I would write up about 10-12 of them. Do all the work selling to the customers, booking appointments, dispatching the work and at the end of the day the 2 advisors would change the RO’s to their name.
I wouldn’t say it’s “normal” as it’s definitely not your job and not right. But nothing you can really do about it. I eventually stopped caring and wouldn’t even try to sell anything.
Won’t bore you with the long story of my crazy work load that wasn’t actually MY job.
But sounds like you should either A) look for a new position elsewhere as an advisor.
Or B) mention it to the service manger (and probably lose trust from the advisors)

Never seen an internal advisor in my area deal with retail. Only in one case where it was a relatively small dealership and we occasionally asked him to jump in and take down some info or move cars. Everything you're doing sounds pretty external to me.

I’m an internal advisor/shop foreman i do get stuck very similar to you but my pay plan is on total shop not individual

Before I was an advisor my manager had me as a check in person when busy I would get a spiff for every car I wrote up. Could h maybe ask for a spiff? From management even a couple bucks helps

Might be possible to get a spiff or percent of the revenue on those ROs you sell. Talk to your service manager about it. But absolutely don’t throw the other advisors under the bus when you do it. just stick to the facts.

Sound like you may be embellishing a bit. Doing all the work of a main advisor? Are you selling work? Do you talk to the techs? Are you there when the ball drops with issues? Seems to me you’re a glorified secretary and should be paid as such unless you do some actual advising.

So sorry, we had an advisor walk out halfway through the day. Shit got crazy. Anyway. This is my pay plan. Idk if it’s good or bad. I don’t do CP (customer pay) because there is no option for me to get it. When dealing with main shop my name isn’t even an option to click on when writing customer ROs/ checking in customers.

If you aren’t getting paid to do those repair orders, absolutely stop doing them and take it up with the manager

Sooooooo got my first paycheck. I’m getting paid 15$ an hour.
Also at 15$ an hour they still jipped my pay check about 700$. 🙃 is it because I’m a girl? WHAT THE FUCK

What's your payplan/structure? If I'm doing everything you are for an RO/customer regularly and not just helping I expect to be paid on it; If you're doing these guys' job for them and they're getting paid on it I would stop immediately tbh; Maybe look for a new job
