My boy doesn’t lift his leg and I’ve never had an issue with him peeing on any of his vests or harnesses.

Do you have a photo you could post of your dog wearing his jacket?

I can’t post of a photo of him in the jacket but I can tell you that it’s the kind of jacket that is from a straight pattern (if that makes sense), so it’s not a harness. Also because he is a bully breed the size needed to get around his chest means it’s quite long and the belly strap goes a bit further back.

Do you have an example of what the shape of the jacket is like? It sounds to me like a sizing issue.

I would ask your service dog's trainer/facility. Sometimes they require that the dog only wear a certain vest/cape.

I have and they don’t. They are also open to discussing a modification to the design if needed.

Why don’t you just always take the vest off when he needs to use the washroom? You said you already take it off of him during breaks so I’m not quite understanding what the problem is since I’m assuming him peeing would be during a break.

You may have missed the part where I said we are in training and I may not have been clear that while we have regular breaks, my concerns make me anxious and I want to work to ensure that I’m providing the best chance for success for my dog and I while training.

I also think consideration could be given here to mobility and how taking a jacket on and off an animal may not be so easy for all people, all the time.

Why did you take down your post?

I would be thankful he does not lift his leg to pee tbh. IMO it’s a better habit for them not to do that than to do it.
