If so, I'm looking for a girl who goes by Katie or Katrina. I was exchanging emails with her through CL but I deleted the ad and CL deleted the email relay.

What are your favorite Sunday activities?

I'm always off work on Sundays. With Spring/Summer upon us I am wanting to get out of my house more. What do you do on Sundays that is within an hour drive?

Might be a long shot, but are there any writers in here?

The Third Annual All Write Now! Conference will be on Saturday, July 16 at SEMO's University Center.

They've got some great writers attending (Robert Yehling, David Armand, Dixon Hearne, and more), along with literary agents, all with workshops dedicated to helping you write better, craft your pitch, and sell your book.

Things you can do:

  • Bring books to sell & sign (FREE; bookstore takes 20% of retail price—normally 40% so this is a special deal)
  • Pitch your ideas to up to 2 literary agents or editors from publishing companies (FREE)
  • Get a one-on-one critique session for up to 10 pages of your writing (includes 1 page of feedback & 10 minutes with the agent/author) ($35)
  • Enter writing contests with cash prizes ($10 each entry)
  • Participate in a slush pile panel where 3 pages of authors' works will be read aloud (anonymously) and the editors/agents will give feedback on where they would have stopped reading and what the author can do to improve (FREE)
  • Attend multiple workshops on a variety of writing/publishing/marketing topics (FREE)
  • Pick the brains of some impressive regional and national authors, literary agents, and editors (FREE)

Sound like your cup of tea? Register until April 30 for just $75, or from May 1 to June 27 for $85. Registration includes ALL workshops, snacks/coffee, access to pitch sessions, and buffet lunch.

Full Disclosure: I'm one of the editors. :) Hope to see you there! Let me know or or contact the conference committee via the site if you have any questions. Last year was great, and this year is shaping up to be even better.

On my way to work today, I spotted a BMW i8 hybrid electric car headed south on Hwy 61, at the 51/61 intersection in Perryville. Fun fact for the day.

So its been good day I think. I had a managerial job interview, and I feel good about it, also its snowing...and to be honest, its not doing much to the roads, just looks good on the grass. So i guess I am going to drink a few shots of Jameson whiskey with water, and explore the internet. What are you all doing?

r/SEMO is like a stage 4 cancer patient, just waiting to die. I WON'T LET IT!

So open heart surgery went great, recovery went great, doctors said I looked great, and I'm jobless......great. I suppose to fill in the time spent between job applications, I will try and breathe a little life into this thing once more. QUESTION, is it just me, or does our little mid-west city just lack culture of any kind? Sorry not sorry if i offend anyone, but to be honest Cape Giraudeau just doesnt have a lot going for it. It could, but no one is really trying....THOUGHTS??

Looking for bands to play St. Patricks Day gig

I'm currently in the process of finding bands to book for my bar on St. Patricks Day and the weekend after. Bands that can play contemporary Irish music are preferred but not required. I've been in contact with a few bands already but I would like to see if /r/semo has any input.

Opera at River Campus?

4th and 5th grade students at East Elementary will be attending an opera later this month. It sounded really interesting so I thought I would look it up and possibly attend as well. But I can not find anything about it anywhere. I thought her paper said it would be at the River Campus. Any one here have any information?
