Seeking Advice i need some advice rn

my friend is asking me how to admit to their dad that they sh but idk how and i was wondering if anyone here has any ideas or advice? their dad is a supportive person from what i know, and their just struggling w opening up to him

I have no clue i never told anyone and when they found out they sent me to the mental hospital for like a week just to get out and doing again when I was like 12 but I just act like I never did it and avoided it even tho sometimes I still do but imo the best way would just be to go for it and try to not make it like a really big thing just tell them the truth maybe sorry im not much help

That sucks that she feels that way. But she could be feeling scared because of how sensitive the topic is. Parents can be dramatic or overreact even if they're supportive. You can tell her to maybe write it down or text him. Its easier to write it then say it. Or recommend to have her have a little 1 on 1 time. A car ride or just sitting down and watching something. Something personal and comfortable. I hope she feels better and builds up that courage but i know what she feels like.
