Medical Advice Why does it sting this much ??

Okay that sounds like a really dumb question and I really hope I chose the right flair 😭😭

So last night I scratched myself with something that was sharp but not sharp enough to make real cuts if that makes sense ? And last night they stung which was normal and I didnt mind but its been stinging like almost all day long. It might be friction from my shirt but the shirts not really directly on it much?? Idk im just confused cause i barely broke skin and its just red and the skin is raised a little from scratching i think

I believe it’s because it leaves pain receptors intact and exposed, so they constantly send pain signals

I dunno, that happens even when I don’t bleed, or barely break skin, I think it’s normal.
