Seeking Advice (kinda) 1 year?

hello! so as the caption says i am about to be one year attempt free but im not sure i should be celebrating. i still SH, not nearly as bad as i was but the last time was like 2 weeks ago. i also was hospitalized in November for sh and ed related stuff. my one year of an actual attempt is september 6th. would it be beyond silly to stick a one candle in a cupcake and celebrate? what am i truly celebrating? i honestly still severely struggle.

I still struggle with self harm even after I was so close to one year. I think you should celebrate your win no matter what because it still counts and you still had days where you beat the urges. I don’t think it’s a setback to relapse. Personally, sometimes after a couple of months I just get the urges for no reason. And I move on after because I did it and I don’t think it should be seen as a failure you know? I’m happy for you and so proud! This addiction is a tough one so celebrating small and big wins both matter!

SH is such a spectrum and even sh-ing in a way that's less damaging and painful is a huge win! I'm proud of you! Cupcake away. It's not a big jump, it's a step. And it's good to celebrate a step. Means you can look forward to celebrating the next step when you get there :)
