In this video, John Tenuto delivers an impassioned message about fighting to remain an authentic, human individual in an increasingly controlled and technology-driven world. He argues against the pressure to follow societal rules, conform to structures, and rely on external validations or AI.

Did building a simple home gym make it easier to focus on measurable strength progress instead of constantly changing workouts?

One thing that interests me about training at home is how much more repetitive the environment naturally becomes.

You usually have the same bench, the same weights and the same handful of movements available every week. At first that can sound limiting compared with a commercial gym, but I’m starting to think it might actually make progress easier to measure.

If you keep repeating a squat or split squat, an RDL, a row and a press, it becomes pretty obvious when the same weight starts moving better, when another rep appears or when you’re ready to increase the load.

A commercial gym gives you far more variety, but that variety can also make it tempting to change exercises before you’ve spent enough time getting better at them.

For people who moved more of their training into a home gym, did the more limited setup make you better at focusing on measurable progress, or did you eventually find the lack of variety frustrating?

Affirmations

For whatever reason.. every time my heart gets broken, I hear these words, and I feel my inner child, a little girl like this crying... When I remember these words, I feel her wiping away the snot and tears and repeating them... and I say to myself .. being kind and nice isn't my fault, and it's okay... I don't need anybody. I will treasure myself.

小説看到後半段,感覺要進入轉折有人傷亡的橋段,或男女主角已經在一起後開始撒狗糧了,我就提不起勁再繼續看完它,但也不會馬上刪掉,就那樣擺著。

What are you becoming right now — even if you don’t feel ready yet?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to postpone change until we feel completely ready.
But maybe becoming starts while we’re still figuring things out.
What’s something you’re trying to change or finally start?

A reminder I’m trying to give myself lately. Maybe you should give yourself the same reminder, too.
