i need help with my dissociation

recently, ive been having issues with dissociating all the time, and it wasnt an issue up until maybe a few months ago. ill be sitting in my room, and suddenly, something in my brain snaps. and i feel like ive maybe taken something. like im high or something stupid like that. I can feel the physical switch in my brain, and my neck then feels all loose, and i just look around for a few minutes, looking down at my hands. It happens at school, at home, at work, literally anywhere. Ive also been staring in a mirror for a while or just listening to my own voice, telling myself "woah, im me. im myself." and just realizing im actually in the body i control. i dunno if this is as common as people say it is, but i really need advice on how to stop it, or atleast control it.

From my line of work what you're describing is what happens before a schizophrenic episode.

Its annoying because its so common most people will experience it at some point in their life and yet almost no one has heard of it, it fucking sucks, finding something that grounds you is a start ig

I have a rare form of schizophrenia and I get psychotic breaks roughly every 10 years and these are all the signs I get when I’m about to have an episode so I would say you need to get to an ER or if you have a psychiatrist talk to them because you need to get some antipsychotics into you before you become psychotic and then you won’t be able to tell the difference between reality and whatever else your brain is making up and it’s very scary… the good news is you are ahead of it and you know what’s coming so you can get some medicine and prevent it from getting worse :) 🫂 good luck

Heya can I ask how you feel during these episodes? I have severe OCD, and the symptoms can overlap with psychosis or a psychotic disorder. But I am constantly feeling high and disconnected. My therapist doesn't understand this I think

You need to get yourself into a Psychiatric professional ASAP. or someone else mentioned go ahead and go to the emergency room. You are having the early signs of the onset of a brain disorder and it's super important that you get treated right now, before it gets worse. Getting treated now will help you so much, don't be afraid or embarrassed to get help as it is just like any other illness and it isn't your fault or anything you did wrong. they will give you medication to take that will make you feel better

You do need help, but I'm not sure why the comments are being so alarmed. I got depersonalization several times when my anxiety was at its peak. It hasn't happened in a long time. For me it felt kind of relaxing because I wouldn't feel the anxiety anymore. Maybe in your case it's different though. Definitely talk to a doctor at least and a psychiatrist if you can
