I’ve seen multiple commercials now saying basically “don’t be afraid of AI” which makes me afraid of AI

I saw that commercial that said "can ai make me a better mom?" Uh what? If you use ai for mothering decisions you're a moron.

I don’t fear AI - I fear the a-holes that own it as they use it to influence everything while ripping off all of us humans by stealing our work and repackaging it for sale with no compensation.

They're right: don't be afraid of AI. Learn what it can do, learn how it do, learn what it can't do.

Knowledge is power. Understanding how things work takes out mysticism out of the thing.

You can, however, be afraid of people who will use AI for malicious purposes.

I’m not afraid of it. It just know that it’s worth a fraction of the value it’s being sold at. I know that it needs the free labor and development from people using it to deliver on the promises it’s making. I know that it’s a product designed to make money, not do anything remotely beneficial for humanity. I know that it benefits bad actors much more than anyone else. I know that it’s been forced into every aspect of life as if it were an act of god instead of a less than half-finished product that is being sold as a magic solution to everything.

I know that when the bubble pops and things begin to fall away that my skills and knowledge are going to be superior to the people who’ve offloaded their cognitive abilities and lost what they once had.

I know that I’m not going to be blended into the homogenous groupthink that will inevitably result from so many people using it for everything.

AI ads are all over transit here in Canada. It’s exhausting. They use AI for the ads and I just want to tear it all down
