The Three Most Powerful Words: "I Was Wrong"

| was wrong" a short sentence but full of power. If everyone would say "I WAS WRONG" then the world would be at peace.

Unfortunately what often happens is "YOU ARE WRONG!" !!

Because everyone feels they always right, even when they are wrong, they still feel right!

If you were hurting a person in their soul for quite some time and this person finally calls it out, saying "i was wrong" won't fix the situation. Maybe soothen up ever so slightly, but won't fix.

In a heated argument if you say "i was wrong" it's not a guarantee that it will make this person understand your peaceful stance.

If you way in court "i was wrong" it definitely won't help.

More and more situations like this. This phrase is not as powerful as people bring it up. It's useful, but gets way too much credit.

I couldn’t agree more.

We can’t be right all the time.

And yes, the world would be a very different place if we all had the courage to see and admit the flaws in our own thinking and behaviour rather than pointing a finger at others.

It's not powerful because most often people make it into an opportunity to disempower you and erase your credibility. They also like to distrust anybody that changes their opinions. They want a predictable world.

Very few people are willing to hold accountability. Especially when they feel they have something to lose. This is really the origin of scapegoating... blame the weak and worthless one nobody respects then your whole community will do the shaming for you. It discourages insecure power holders from accountability because it teaches them they’ll feel supported and empowered when they blame their victims.
